Role Description The Payment Posting Analyst is responsible for accurately posting payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts and payer ledgers. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing electronic remittance advices (ERAs) and explanation of benefits (EOBs), reconciling deposits, identifying posting discrepancies, and resolving payment-related issues with internal teams and external stakeholders. The role also involves verifying payer contracts, ensuring proper allocation of funds, and maintaining detailed documentation for auditing and reporting purposes. This is a contract, remote role that requires consistent adherence to deadlines, secure handling of financial and patient data, and effective communication with the broader revenue cycle team.
Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret EOBs, ERAs, and reconcile payment variances.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, providers, and payers.
• Knowledge of finance and revenue cycle processes, including healthcare reimbursement workflows.
• Experience in account reconciliation and payment balancing across multiple systems.
• Foundational understanding of accounting principles related to posting and adjustments.
• Proficiency with medical billing software and practice management systems.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage contract-based workload.
• Prior experience in healthcare RCM, medical billing, or payment posting preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field is beneficial.
