Payroll is more than a transaction. It is a critical commitment to every member of our organization. We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to help ensure our domestic and international payrolls are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
In this role, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager and collaborate with other internal teams and third-party vendors. You will process payroll across multiple pay groups, maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, support audits, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for members and management.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys solving problems, working across systems, and providing responsive service in a deadline-driven environment.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Process domestic and international payroll accurately and on schedule across multiple pay groups.
- Collect, review, and post weekly timesheets.
- Process and post member benefit accruals.
- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records, including documentation of corrections, adjustments, discrepancies, and reconciliations.
- Research payroll anomalies and identify appropriate, timely resolutions.
- Process wage garnishments, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions, including required reporting to state agencies or other jurisdictions.
- Assist members with questions regarding payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related matters.
- Coordinate payroll-related details for leaves of absence, including FMLA and other unpaid leaves.
- Prepare payroll and member-information reports for management, members, auditors, and other internal stakeholders.
- Assist with calendar-year and fiscal-year-end payroll activities.
- Support financial and payroll-related audits by providing accurate records and documentation.
- Document and maintain payroll procedures as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 0–2 years of professional experience in payroll, accounting, finance, human resources, business operations, or a related field; previous payroll experience is helpful but not required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, human resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to look beyond established procedures to understand the purpose behind a process, identify potential issues, and recommend practical improvements.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset, including a willingness to question inefficient or repetitive processes and explore opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve them.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, balanced with an understanding of how individual tasks and decisions affect the broader payroll process and member experience.
- Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and regulatory requirements and applying that knowledge to new situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines, changing priorities, and detailed work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential payroll and member information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, explain issues clearly, and work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Information Technology, and other business partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with payroll or HRIS systems, including UKG, is a plus.
What will make you successful in this role
We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and eager to learn. You’ll be successful if you take the time to understand why a process works the way it does, recognize when something doesn’t look right, and look for opportunities to make processes more accurate, efficient, and scalable. We value someone who is comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions constructively, and turning what they learn into better ways of working.
We realize there’s more to life than just work. We help you meet the demands of work, family and personal life through several flexible options.
