As a Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you’ll be part of our wider Payroll and Benefits team, but focus predominantly on Pension administration, helping deliver an accurate and reliable service for colleagues. Your work will support the timely processing of pension contributions and elected benefits, helping colleagues access their benefits and have confidence that their payroll deductions are correct.
We’re looking for an Administrator to join our team and help ensure colleagues’ pension contributions and elected benefits are processed accurately and in line with payroll deadlines. If you enjoy working with detail and collaborating with others, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to an important service for our colleagues.
You’ll carry out day-to-day pension administration, checking contribution information and keeping records accurate and up to date. Working closely with your teammates, third-party providers and colleagues across other teams, you’ll help ensure the right information is available for payroll processing, employee queries are answered and we remain compliant with regulatory legislation.
Collaboration will be central to your role. You’ll follow up on queries, investigate discrepancies and work with the relevant teams and providers to resolve issues or escalate them when needed. Through careful checking, clear communication and timely administration, you’ll help deliver a reliable pension administration service.
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.
This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work within the wider Payroll and Benefits team, completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual pension administration tasks to help ensure contributions are accurate and payroll deadlines are met. You’ll support pension arrangements for both permanent colleagues and our temporary worker population, working with third-party providers and other teams to maintain accurate information and resolve queries. You’ll also work closely with heritage Virgin Money colleagues to administer the heritage Virgin Money “MyRetirement” scheme. Alongside your regular responsibilities, you’ll respond to ad hoc queries and support additional tasks as needed, balancing scheduled work with changing priorities to deliver a reliable service.
