Payroll Clerk

McKinney, TX (Remote flexible)
Central Pyramid is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations across our growing healthcare organization.
This position is responsible for assisting with payroll processing, maintaining accurate employee payroll records, reviewing timekeeping information, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
- Assist with processing accurate and timely payroll for employees across multiple locations and entities.
- Review and verify employee timesheets, hours worked, overtime, and payroll adjustments.
- Enter and maintain employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and deductions.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in coordination with Human Resources and department leadership.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure proper documentation of payroll transactions.
- Assist with payroll deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other compensation adjustments.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Support process improvements to increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of payroll processing or related administrative experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Basic understanding of payroll practices, deductions, and wage and hour regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience processing payroll for a multi-location or multi-state organization.
- Previous payroll experience in healthcare, home health, or hospice.
- Experience with CBIZ or similar payroll and HRIS systems.
- Familiarity with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and employee record management.
- Experience supporting payroll for hourly, salaried, and field-based employees.
