This job can be described as:

Maintaining time worked records, compiles payroll statistics (i.e. vacation, sick, bonus, 401K, pension, etc.) and calculates and distributes payroll.

Job Model: Hybrid

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

A typical day at work would include:

· Consistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.

· Compiles payroll data such as hours worked and taxes and insurance to be withheld from time sheets and other records.

· Processes three payrolls consisting of one weekly and two salaried.

· Compiles hourly data and enters into payroll system, reviewing to ensure accuracy.

· Processes and maintains hourly and salaried payrolls, including all adjustments within the payroll system including new hires, terminations, transfers, severance, address changes, benefit changes, marital status, etc.

· Calculates and verifies vacation and sick time for all payrolls according to company policy.

· Calculates unused sick time and bonus, when applicable, and distributes checks.

· Administers all wage garnishments, including notification to all appropriate personnel, computations and follow through.

· Processes all written/verbal requests for employment verification.

· Provides data for state unemployment claims.

· Maintains records and computer files for all withholdings from payroll, including Federal and State taxes, social security, insurance, retirement, banking information, etc.

· Distribution of W-2 tax forms.

· Works with Time and Attendance software.

· Reports Worker’s Compensation wages to third party.

· Maintains and orders department supplies as needed including storage.

· Trains others in the department on various payroll duties.

· Reviews all HR PAN documentation. Processes relevant payroll related action items and ensures that payroll instructions are executed.

· On a monthly basis reconciles employee Fidelity 401k deferral and loan instructions against deduction rates on record in ADP WFN.

· Maintains Globalization Partners payroll records, reviews GP invoicing, creates monthly GL entry for accounting.

· Processes weekly and semi-monthly Rains Earned Wage Advances. Reviews Rains invoicing for accuracy, submits GL entry to accounting and uploads EWA employee deductions to ADP for processing.

· Employee works with limited supervision.

· No instructions are needed on routine work and general instructions are given on new assignments or special projects.

· Contacts are primarily within the department, with occasional contacts outside the company.

Experience you need coming into this job:

· High School Diploma or GED preferred;

· Two to four years related experience and/or training; or

· Equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Prior payroll experience required.

· Accurate key punch. Ability to meet time dead-lines.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees within the organization.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Good knowledge of the job, substantial understanding of general aspects of the job with a good understanding of the technical phase of the job.

Targeted pay range: $27.00 - $31.00/hr depending on experience

Chesterton is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The pay range associated with this position (27.00/hr. - 31.00/hr. DOE) is Chesterton's good-faith salary estimate for the presently available position. Several roles at Chesterton are considered “leveled” positions and as such, the company reserves the right to advertise and or hire for this position at appropriate level depending on applicant’s skillset/experience. If the salary range to be offered for a “leveled” based position (I, II, III, etc.) is different than what was advertised on any posting, that range will be discussed with the candidate before they are formally invited to interview.

Hired applicants may be eligible for additional incentive compensation depending on the level and or function of the position which will be discussed with the candidate prior to formal interview. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

Please note that the final salary offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, internal equity, geographical location, and budget. Please note, it is not the company's usual practice to hire near or at the top of a pay range for any position that is available.
