Payroll Specialist

Noble Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading international NGO to find an experienced payroll specialist to cover an extended leave absence.

This is a finance-side payroll role, not an administration role. The award is straightforward, but the system is complex and the handover is short, so we need someone who has run payroll from start to finish and knows the numbers behind it.

The engagement

• 0.5 FTE: 5 days out of every 10, with a flexible pattern (one week on/one week off, or 2 days then 3)
• Early October 2026 to end of January 2027, starting with 1–2 pay runs alongside the current team member
• Fully remote, anywhere in Australia
• Contract through Noble Talent Solutions

What you'll do

• Run the fortnightly Australian payroll for about 200 employees under the SCHADS Award (no overtime, shifts or penalties)
• Manage salary packaging and novated leases in-house, end to end, within PBI rules
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and prepare payroll journals
• Analyse payroll data in Excel to make sure every run is right
• Support audit and finance requests

What you'll bring

• Experience as a payroll specialist, payroll accountant or payroll manager, ideally within a finance team
• A track record of running full payroll cycles on your own
• Salary packaging and novated lease administration done in-house, ideally including FBT reporting
• An enterprise payroll platform: SAP SuccessFactors preferred; Oracle or Microsoft also considered
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Not-for-profit experience is a bonus
