About the Company
Our client, a well-established organization with a collaborative and professional environment, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing for employees on a bi-weekly/semi-monthly basis.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including regular earnings, deductions, benefits, bonuses, commissions, and other adjustments.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure all payroll-related information is kept current.
- Process new hires, terminations, salary changes, promotions, leaves, and other employee status changes.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports and payroll-related accounts.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, including statutory deductions and employment standards.
- Prepare and administer year-end payroll requirements, including T4s and other applicable tax forms.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and other compensation-related matters.
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to resolve payroll issues and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide payroll reporting and analysis as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, and efficiencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a multi-employee or corporate environment.
- Ceridian Dayforce experience is considered a strong asset.
- Law firm experience considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, deductions, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing full-cycle payroll from start to finish.
- Experience with payroll systems and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines independently.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Compensation
- Up to $90,000, commensurate with experience
- Hybrid Remote schedule - 2–3 days in office
