Payroll Team Lead

We are expanding our global team and looking for Payroll Team Lead to bring their wider knowledge and help us get our product and service more widely known and used.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of Payroll Specialists,
• Oversee international payroll delivery and ensure deadlines are met,
• Handle complex payroll cases and escalations,
• Support payroll processing and checks when needed,
• Plan team capacity and distribute workload effectively,
• Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders,
• Help improve payroll processes, documentation and ways of working,
• Support the introduction of AI and automation into payroll operations,
• Ensure knowledge sharing and backup coverage across the team.

Requirements

• Strong payroll experience, ideally in international or multi-country payroll,
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supporting a team,
• Good understanding of end-to-end payroll processes,
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills,
• Confidence handling complex cases and client escalations,
• A hands-on mindset — you’re comfortable jumping into operations when the team needs support,
• Strong communication skills and fluent English,
• Interest in process improvement, automation and AI,
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Willingness and flexibility to occasionally travel for team and business meetings,
