Journey-Level Engineer Job Description PG&E Transmission Engineering Position Summary: This position is represented by the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and is subject to collective bargaining. The role is for a journey-level engineer who has mastered Associate engineer skills and duties, and is responsible for leading the engineering and design of more complex projects. The journey engineer exercises independent judgment in applying engineering principles and works with minimal supervision. Collaboration with engineers, project managers, construction personnel, and other business partners to assess project needs is essential. Additional responsibilities include developing technical studies and reports, providing guidance to contractors and outside vendors, and traveling to/from project-related functions approximately 20% of the time. This hybrid position requires working from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory, based on business needs.
