Help shape how Mattioli Woods grows through its people
Our team is growing and we are looking for a people business partner to join our HR team and play a real part in our next chapter. If you enjoy being a trusted adviser, influencing at every level and turning HR strategy into practical results, this is a role where you will make a visible difference.
About the role
Reporting to our Head of People, you will support your own dedicated business areas, making sure our HR strategy is fully embedded and always guided by a commercial view. You will work closely with leaders and colleagues across various functions, building strong, trusting relationships and helping them deliver change.
This is a varied position. You will give expert advice on employment law and strategic people matters, support our continued growth through acquisitions and integrations, and help us stay agile as regulations change in both employment law and financial services.
What you’ll be doing
- giving expert employment law advice on performance, capability, absence, grievance and disciplinary matters, and acting as an escalation point for managers and our Central Service Team
- supporting organisational change, including TUPE, due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions, working with the projects team to keep stakeholders informed
- coaching and mentoring leaders at all levels, helping them with succession planning, appraisals and SMART objectives
- advising and training colleagues on Workday, and supporting the annual salary review, bonus plan and payroll so payments are accurate and on time
- supporting the employee journey from recruitment and pre-hire checks through to inductions, exit interviews and leaver processes
What we’re looking for
- strong employment law knowledge, including tribunals, subject access requests, policy writing and TUPE
- hands-on experience and confidence using data to make decisions
- a credible, confident adviser who builds trusted relationships and influences at every level, from line managers to senior stakeholders
- experience of managing medium to large-scale projects and juggling a varied workload with strong attention to detail
- a coach and mentor who enjoys developing others and has helped junior colleagues progress
CIPD Level 5 or above qualifications would be a bonus.
Why join us?
At Mattioli Woods, you will work closely with senior leaders, influence key decisions and help shape how HR supports a growing firm. You will have variety, autonomy and room to progress, all in a supportive, friendly team.
What’s in for you
- competitive salary (depending on experience)
- 34.5-hour working week
- health cash plan (Core Level 1)
- 5% Employer and 5% Employee minimum Group Pension contribution (if you choose to contribute 6%, we will match this)
- 4x salary life assurance and Group Income Protection (50% of reference salary)
- Benenden Healthcare (company-funded; includes 24/7 GP access, mental health support, physiotherapy, medical diagnostics, and access to selected surgical treatments)
- 25 Days Holiday (plus 8 statutory; increases by 1 day annually from year 2)
- hybrid working – a blend of home and office time
- training and development opportunities
