Job Description
- Strategic HR
Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the manufacturing team and management,
providing guidance on HR matters and partnering with HR leadership to
develop and execute strategies that support corporate goals.
- Workforce
Planning & Analytics: Analyze workforce trends (turnover, engagement
scores, retention) and utilize HR metrics to diagnose challenges, assess
organizational effectiveness, and provide actionable recommendations to
leadership.
- Performance
& Talent Management: Lead performance management workflows, including
goal setting, reviews, and constructive feedback; partner with learning
& development to support career progression and skill enhancement.
- Employee
Relations & Conflict Resolution: Provide
guidance and counsel to employees and managers on employee relations
issues, manage conflict resolution processes, and handle sensitive
situations to promote a positive, inclusive workplace.
- Health, Safety
& Plant Presence: Conduct structured on-site visits to
manufacturing, warehouse, and sample room facilities; support workplace
safety standards, participate in safety initiatives/JHSC activities, and
adhere to all safety protocols.
- Program
Implementation & Change Management: Implement
corporate-wide HR programs (compensation & benefits, wellness, DEI,
training); support leadership through organizational transitions and
change management adoption.
- Compliance
& Policy Governance: Ensure HR practices align with legal and
regulatory requirements, including the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), workplace safety standards (OHSA), and anti-discrimination policies
(Human Rights Code, AODA).
- General HR
Support: Perform other reasonable assignments and projects as directed by
the People & Culture Director or designates.
Requirements
- Education: Community
College diploma or University degree in Human Resources, Business
Administration, or a related field. CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8
years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a
business partner capacity in a manufacturing environment and proven
experience managing Health and Safety
- Employee
Relations & Talent Management: Proven
experience in organizational development, employee relations, conflict
resolution, facilitation, and talent management.
- Recruitment
Expertise: Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, candidate
sourcing strategies, and experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems
(ATS).
- Health &
Safety Awareness: Working knowledge of Ontario employment and
workplace safety legislation (OHSA), with familiarity supporting
plant/operational environments.
- Technical
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems (Ceridian
Dayforce preferred), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and
reward/recognition applications.
- Communication
Skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the
ability to write routine reports, present effectively before groups, and
facilitate training.
- Analytical
& Interpersonal Strengths: Results-oriented mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal
capabilities.
