People & Culture Manager
We are serious about being the best at what we do, but relaxed in the way we do it.
Readpeak is the premium platform for programmatic native advertising. Since 2014, we have built our own demand-side platform (DSP) for native campaigns on quality publisher sites, and we operate in 14 markets. We are about 40 people, headquartered in Helsinki, and our plan is to grow to around 60 people over the next two to three years.
We are looking for our first dedicated People & Culture Manager. Our culture is strong, but we often lack the processes and structure that carry it into everyday work. Building that structure is central to this hands-on role. You report to the COO and work closely with the management team.
What you’ll do:
1. Run the annual HR cycle
- Build and run a yearly calendar for people processes, so everyone knows what happens when.
- Lead performance and development process, and co-ordinate the salary review with the people managers and COO.
- Run the engagement survey and make sure each team acts on the results.
- Keep statutory plans up to date, including equality and non-discrimination plans and co-operation procedures in Finland.
2. Develop the performance tracking framework
We are building our own goal and OKR platform, which the leadership team starts testing during 2026. You will develop the framework further and turn it into practice across the company:
- Develop how company priorities cascade into team and individual targets, with dependencies between teams made visible.
- Set a simple follow-up rhythm, for example, quarterly targets and monthly check-ins.
- Define clear assessment criteria and calibration, linked to development discussions, salary review, and bonus models.
- Roll out the goal platform beyond the leadership team, and train managers and employees to use it.
3. Lead talent acquisition
- Own a structured and fair recruitment process end to end, from role definition to contract.
- Support recruitment across markets and roles, and develop our employer brand with marketing.
- Own onboarding and offboarding.
4. Train and support our people managers
- Define what we expect from a people manager, and deliver a practical training program covering feedback, one-to-ones, development discussions, and difficult conversations.
- Coach managers individually and identify future leaders.
5. Make our culture part of daily work
Our ‘people for people’ culture combines high performance with a relaxed, supportive environment. It rests on fairness and diversity, well-being and flexibility, growth and recognition, and open communication, with zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination. You will:
- Turn these principles into concrete routines in hiring, onboarding, development discussions, and recognition.
- Ensure salary and career decisions follow clear, explainable criteria.
- Own a safe channel for raising concerns, and lead investigations fairly and quickly.
- Follow up on workload, well-being, and learning, and make the culture work across offices and countries.
6. Keep HR operations and compliance in order
- Own HiBob as our HR system of record, and keep policies, the handbook, and contract templates current.
- Ensure compliance with employment law in Finland and other countries, working with legal counsel, payroll, and occupational health care.
With these skills, you will be in the lead:
- 5+ years in HR or People & Culture, ideally as the sole or lead HR person in a growing company.
- HR experience from international companies is preferred, ideally supporting employees across several countries.
- Proven experience building HR processes from scratch, including a performance or goal-setting framework such as OKRs.
- Hands-on experience with performance cycles, salary reviews, recruitment, and manager training.
- Good knowledge of Finnish employment law and practice.
- Comfortable using AI tools in your own work, for example to automate routine HR tasks, analyze people data, and draft material.
- Structured, with good judgment and the confidence to challenge leaders when needed.
- Fluent in English. Finnish is a strong advantage.
It is a plus if you have:
- Experience from technology, media, or advertising companies.
- Experience with HiBob or a similar HR system.
- Swedish, German, or another European languages.
What we offer:
- Real ownership and direct influence on how the company grows.
- A people-first culture with high ambition and a relaxed, supportive team.
- Flexible, hybrid work from our Helsinki office.
- Support for learning and fair compensation tied to skills and performance.
