We bring the “A” to life by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and personal growth. We encourage our diverse teams to bring their whole selves to work – ideas, experience, and passion – to drive our mission forward.
Our people are our strength.
The People Generalist: usually the first friendly face an employee finds when something needs sorting out - a workplace concern that needs to be heard and documented, a benefits question, a leave that's just kicked in. Employee relations sit at the heart of this role, handling intake, documentation, and case tracking across the US and Canada, then packaging up well-organized cases for the Senior Manager or legal counsel the moment things get complicated.
Beyond that, the People Generalist keeps the everyday gears of HR turning - benefits administration, leave of absence coordination, and people data that's actually clean - while lending a hand on immigration and visa case coordination alongside the Senior Manager, People Business Partnering & Operations, and outside counsel. It's a role for someone who genuinely likes the follow-through: sharp on the details, trusted with sensitive information, and calm enough under a full plate that nothing slips through the cracks.
Employee Relations
- Own employee relations casework day to day - conducting intake, documentation, and triage of employee concerns, and managing cases through to resolution or escalation.
- Escalate case strategy, complex allegations, and resolution decisions to the Senior Manager or legal counsel as case complexity requires, ensuring timely handoff and complete documentation.
- Partner directly with people managers and employees throughout each case - gathering information, coordinating meetings, and communicating process and next steps.
- Support managers in documenting and addressing employee performance concerns, tracking informal conversations and coordinating next steps, including escalation to a formal Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when needed.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Support the benefits lifecycle - enrollment, life-event changes, vendor coordination, and employee inquiries - for US and Canadian employees, distinguishing between Roper-administered US benefits (light-touch coordination) and self-administered Canadian benefits (fuller, hands-on support).
- Coordinate and help deliver open enrollment presentations and employee education sessions, including for the Roper Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
- Support leave of absence cases, including intake, tracking, compliance documentation, and coordination with payroll and people managers, providing status updates to managers throughout each leave.
- Maintain accurate, timely people data entry and record changes in Workday HCM (primary system of record), manually reconciling records with UKG to ensure consistency.
- Maintain and organize employee records across Workday and shared network drives in accordance with document retention and confidentiality standards, including I-9 and immigration files.
- Draft and distribute North America employee-facing communications on People policies, programs, and process changes.
- Provide reporting support for the People team, partnering with the People Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) to deliver accurate, timely workforce reporting.
- Support immigration and visa case coordination as needed (e.g., PERM, L-1A/L-1B, TN status) by tracking milestones, gathering documentation, and liaising with immigration counsel; training on this process will be provided.
- Partner with Payroll, Compensation, and Talent Acquisition to support data consistency across systems and processes, helping maintain data integrity between UKG and Workday.
- Execute COE programs and initiatives on the ground in North America.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries with a high standard of service, discretion, and compliance awareness, managing shared inbox and ticket queues to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist with process documentation and improvement initiatives across the People function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 - 4 years of experience supporting employee relations casework is required, including intake, documentation, and case tracking; experience across matters of increasing complexity is a plus.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, or related HR support role is highly desired.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Exposure to benefits administration and leave of absence processes.
- Hands-on experience with Workday HCM & UKG for people data entry and maintenance, or comparable platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.
- Exposure to US and Canadian employment practices; comfort working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exposure to, or willingness to learn, immigration and visa case coordination (e.g., PERM, L-1A/L-1B, TN status) — a plus, not required; training provided.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment.
