Who we are

Phorest started in 2002 on a busy salon reception desk as a simple text-reminder tool.

Today, we're a SaaS company and a trusted partner to over 155,000 hair, beauty and medspa professionals worldwide. Our all-in-one software and AI-driven tools help them manage bookings, take payments, market their services, grow their client base and get the best from their teams.

Everything we build helps the salon and medspa industry thrive.

We're also a Certified B Corp, and 25% of the company is owned by Phoresters. When the company grows, everyone has a stake in that.

The role

This role focuses on delivering an excellent employee experience across the lifecycle, managing a wide range of People activities while helping to improve and evolve how People Operations works across the business.

You'll coach first-line managers, turn people data into insights for leaders, and support the compensation cycle. You'll be mentored by a Strategic People Partner, so it's a great opportunity to grow your partnering skills alongside your People Ops expertise.

This role includes availability to be in our Dublin office one day a week to host onboarding sessions for new starters and stay connected with the local team.

What you'll do

  • Be the go-to person for employee queries and requests. You'll resolve the more complex ones, point people to the right support, and spot patterns so you can fix the root cause with clearer guidance, templates or self-service

  • Own lifecycle admin and keep HiBob accurate. This covers contracts, employee changes, letters, leave, onboarding and offboarding

  • Work closely with our payroll and Finance colleagues to prepare inputs each cycle, and flag anything unusual before cut-off

  • Support compliance work such as employment permits and Gender Pay Gap reporting

  • Partner with our People Systems & Operations Analyst to automate the routine

  • Keep our knowledge base, guides and process docs current and easy to navigate

  • Lead continuous improvement projects across People Ops, from mapping how something works today to rolling out a simpler, more scalable way of doing it

  • Coach first-line managers on everyday people topics, good management practice and performance management. You'll be mentored by a Strategic People Partner, so if you're newer to coaching, this is a great place to grow

  • Act as a connective link across teams, proactively gathering and sharing people data, trends, feedback and emerging themes to help People Partners stay informed, identify opportunities and make evidence-based decisions.

  • Support the compensation cycle, including coaching first-line managers through their pay decisions

  • Support the development of content, resources and communications for key employee lifecycle initiatives, helping translate strategic priorities into practical, engaging experiences for employees and managers.

  • Contribute to wider People Team initiatives, partnering with People Partners and Talent Acquisition Partners to support hiring activities and processes

What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years in HR, with solid generalist People Ops experience

  • A HR qualification (third-level or CIPD) or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of Irish employment law, with UK knowledge a plus

  • Experience using an HRIS

  • Some experience supporting or coaching managers, with an appetite to develop further

  • Confident with Excel or Google Sheets, and able to spot trends and share useful insights from people data

  • Good judgement and comfortable working in the grey, knowing when to make a call and when to escalate

  • A strong growth mindset, with curiosity and a willingness to learn and develop

  • A warm, approachable and clear communication style

  • Proactive, organised and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working independently and remotely, while knowing when to ask for support

  • Enjoys variety and looks for ways to improve how we work

  • Growing commercial awareness, with an ability to balance employee experience and our culture with the needs of the business

  • Curious about AI and open to trying new tools and ways of working

Bonus points for:

  • Experience at a fast-growing or multi-country company, ideally in SaaS

  • Experience with HiBob

  • Experience using AI or automation to improve HR work
