Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.

Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.

This is a varied, hands on opportunity where you’ll support managers and teams with everything from employee relations and performance management to workforce planning, HR reporting, organisational change and talent development.

Why Join Us as a People Partner?

This is a brilliant opportunity to broaden your HR experience and build strong relationships across the business.

You’ll have the chance to:

  • Support a wide range of people management matters across the employee lifecycle – advising and guiding managers and employees through our policies and processes
  • Develop your experience in employee relations, performance management and organisational change
  • Work closely with People Business Partners and stakeholders across different functions
  • Use HR data and insights to support better business decisions
  • Contribute to workforce planning, talent management and succession planning
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives
  • Build your HR career within a supportive and collaborative team

The Role

As a People Partner, you’ll:

  • Be the first-point of contact for manager queries and employee enquiries at SZC
  • Provide professional HR advice and operational support to designated business areas
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, including documentation, correspondence and case resolution
  • Assist with performance management and the delivery of Sizewell C’s performance framework, reward cycle and cyclical HR processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and process workflows and approvals through MyHR
  • Support recruitment activity, including developing job descriptions and requisitions and coordinating with the recruitment team
  • Produce HR reports, data analysis and workforce planning information
  • Support organisational and structural changes alongside the Organisational Capability team
  • Coordinate Personal Development Plan activity for assigned business areas
  • Support annual pay review and bonus processes
  • Contribute to succession planning, talent management and employee engagement activities
  • Providing advice and guidance – whilst also helping to develop, implement and review HR policies
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity

About You

We’re looking for someone with HR experience who is organised, confident and comfortable working with stakeholders across the business.

You’ll bring:

  • Previous experience working within an HR environment
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and provide constructive challenge
  • Strong commercial awareness within an HR setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work across different teams and functions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ideally, you’ll be CIPD qualified at Level 3 or Level 5. However, we’re also interested in hearing from candidates who are willing to work towards a CIPD qualification.

Experience using HR systems such as SAP, MyHR or similar platforms would be beneficial, alongside exposure to HR data analytics, reporting, organisational change or workforce planning tools.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re passionate about people, enjoy building trusted relationships and want to develop your HR career on one of the UK’s most exciting infrastructure projects, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and help us build the team powering Britain’s low-carbon future.

When joining Sizewell C, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.

At Sizewell C we encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work. It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility that we can explore, we are fully committed to local recruitment where possible, and those already holding the right to work in the UK.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
