Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated People Systems & Insights Analyst to join our People, Culture & Safety team!

As the People Systems & Insights Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Taronga’s people systems by designing, implementing, and maintaining effective HRMIS Systems (SAP SuccessFactors and UKG) processes which support our end-to-end payroll processing. You will also be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all people data, creating dashboards and reports to communicate people data analytics and insights, and partnering with IT and third-party providers to manage system changes and updates.

About The Role…

The People Systems & Insights Analyst is responsible the administration, data analysis, reporting and improvements to Taronga’s HRMIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors and UKG) which support our end-to-end HR Operations and payroll processing. This role maintains and optimises people systems, builds reporting and monitoring processes and practices to support the successful management of Taronga’s workforce.

Key Accountabilities…

HRMIS Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Oversee the ongoing functionality of Taronga's HRMIS system, specifically SAP SuccessFactors and UKG.
  • Manage the release schedules and updates for SAP SuccessFactors (HRSP, H1and H2) and communicate changes to stakeholders. Implement ad-hoc system modifications as needed.
  • Supervise the daily operations of SAP SuccessFactors modules, such as Employee Central, Payroll, Onboarding, Recruitment, Learning, and Performance & Goals. Ensure efficient and accurate execution of people and payroll practices.
  • Triage and manage all HRMIS tickets to ensure the successfully delivery of system changes, taking a risk-based approach.

HRMIS Improvements and Governance

  • Partner with People, Culture & Safety and IT teams, and other divisions to gather system functionality requirements and ensure alignment with organisational and business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in system and data management.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, enhancements and support implementation, including in relation to position management and master data.
  • Establish governance and control measures, taking a risk-based approach.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Ensure all HRMIS processes, business rules, and procedures are well-documented and adhered to.

Functional Testing and Issue Resolution

  • Conduct testing to validate HRMIS functionality, including user acceptance testing (UAT), and work with third-party providers to resolve identified issues.
  • Troubleshoot and address HRMIS-related issues in coordination with IT, People Operations and Payroll teams to ensure timely resolution.

Reporting and Dashboards

  • Produce regular and ad-hoc people reports for the executive and management teams, Board and other committees, including the submission of the annual NSW Workforce Profile report.

Training and User Support

  • Develop and provide user manuals, guides, and training resources tailored for various groups including People Operations, Payroll teams, managers, and employees.
  • Facilitate training sessions to promote ease of use and system adoption among end users (managers, supervisors, employees).

Project Support

  • Assist with the Payroll Systems Optimisation project as needed to enhance overall system performance.

  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement change.
  • Strong analytical skills including interpreting business requirements and translating them into business insights.
  • Extracting business information from data and working directly with business stakeholders to communicate insights.
  • Inquisitive and insightful with a passion for analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate to all levels across Taronga.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a HRIS administration or HR/Payroll reporting. SAP and UKG experience is an advantage.
  • Aptitude for IT and reporting including Excel skills (lookups, formulas, and pivot tables). A broad understanding of contemporary HR and safety metrics.
  • Strong ability to communicate complicated analytical techniques and results in an easy-to-understand manner to a diverse audience.
