How You'll Make an Impact As a Phone Banker, you will play an important role in CAIR-LA's Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaign by connecting with registered voters, particularly within the Black, African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (BAMEMSA) communities. Through direct outreach, you will help raise awareness about upcoming elections, encourage civic participation, and ensure voters have accurate , accessible information about when, where, and how to cast their ballots. Your conversations will help strengthen community engagement, increase voter awareness, and empower individuals to make their voices heard through voting. T his is a nonpartisan voter engagement position. All outreach must remain nonpartisan and consistent with CAIR-CA's status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Phone Bankers will receive approved scripts and training and are expected to follow them. Phone Bankers may not advocate for or against any candidate or political party. I n this role, you will do the following: Contact registered voters to encourage participation in upcoming elections. Provide information about polling locations, early voting options, and mail-in ballot procedures. Document voter feedback and maintain accurate call records. Communicate voter questions, concerns, or reported issues to the Campaign Coordinator. Represent CAIR-LA professionally and uphold the organization's mission and values in all interactions. All CAIR staff are expected to contribute to general organizational operations as needed, including answering phones, participating in weekly outreach efforts, and assisting with other office-related tasks. Other duties as assigned . What You Bring Required Qualifications Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly , professional phone manner . Ability to work independently, follow established scripts and instructions, and meet daily and weekly calling goals. Reliable internet access and access to a phone or computer to perform calling duties. Availability to work 4 hours per day, Sunday through Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., October 18–29, 2026 (20 hours per week). Ability to commit to the full 20-hour weekly schedule for both weeks leading up to the November 3, 2026, General Election. Availability for the entire assignment is required for consideration. Ability to complete required onboarding tasks in person at the CAIR-LA office (2180 W. Crescent Ave., Suite F, Anaheim, CA 92801) on one day between October 12–16, 2026, specific date to be determined. Interest in civic engagement and a commitment to supporting nonpartisan voter education and participation. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in phone banking, customer service, community outreach, or a similar role. Fluency in Arabic, Urdu, Farsi , Somali, Bengali, Punjabi, or another language spoken within BAMEMSA communities.
