Photovoltaic & Battery Energy Storage System Expert (m/w/d)

The ILF Solar Photovoltaic & hybrid systems team works across a vast range of large-scale renewables projects and programs, both grid connected and off-grid across private and public sectors globally. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will operate as a Photovoltaic & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Expert to International Finance Institutions (AFD, KfW, World Bank, EBRD, EIB, etc.), national power utilities, major private clients as well as project developers.

• During development phase of the projects, you will participate to Feasibility work related to technology review attributes across storage technologies, system sizing CAPEX and OPEX estimation, conceptual system design and layout.

• During implementation phase, you will be in charge of writing the PV & BESS Technical Specifications (tender design), evaluating EPC/IPP offers, reviewing and validating the executive design before construction (design vetting). Your will also be involved in the supervision of the construction and commissioning of the power plants.

• As an interface between suppliers, EPC contractors and clients you keep up to date with and pass on market trends, new products, standards and simulation models.

• You will occasionally support our development teams in acquiring new projects

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduated in the field of energy, electrical engineering or similar with a focus on Energy Storage Systems (ESS) / Renewable Energies / Photovoltaics.

• 0 to 3 years of experience in Power Systems (Modelling), Battery Systems, and Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) generation, combined with a very good technical understanding of battery systems and energy storage simulation programs. Expertise in Wind and Green Hydrogen projects would be a plus.

• Expertise with PVSyst, HOMER PRO, PLEXOS, AutoCAD 3D, PVDesign / PV-CAD and/or power system analysis software (Power Factory, PSSE)

• Good command of MS office tools. Programming skills (Python,VBA) are an advantage

• Understanding of technical aspects of PPA and EPC contracts regarding performance and penalties is an advantage.

• Perfect command of English and French (written and spoken) is indispensable.
