We’re looking for a self-motivated Plans Reviewer to join our team and conduct thorough plan reviews of modular commercial and residential structures. In this role, you’ll review complex construction plans, specifications, and engineering data to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and energy requirements. If you enjoy interpreting code, solving problems alongside engineers and clients, and keeping multiple projects moving in a fast-paced setting, we’d love to meet you!

What You’ll Do:

• Review complex plans, specifications, and engineering data for modular commercial and residential construction.

• Determine compliance with specialized areas of applicable building codes, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and energy code requirements.

• Interpret provisions of applicable building codes and assist modular clients with code language and interpretation.

• Resolve discrepancies in construction plans and specifications with engineers and modular clients.

• Prepare plan review reports and client correspondence that answer questions arising from the review of plans, calculations, and engineering data.

• Assist other staff in the application and interpretation of applicable codes and standards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills We’re Looking For:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in plan review.

• Skill in interpreting and applying ICC codes and modular construction standards.

• Ability to analyze construction plans and specifications using sound engineering analysis techniques.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• A self-motivated, driven approach and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.

What You Bring:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in building construction, code enforcement, or quality control audits.

• International Code Council (ICC) certifications, or demonstrated ability to acquire the necessary ICC certifications.

• Knowledge of residential and commercial modular building construction methods, practices, and materials, including construction methods for manufactured homes.

• Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards for residential and commercial structures, and of standard modular industry engineering practice related to building design and construction.

• Understanding of structural engineering principles and the design of wood-frame and non-combustible modular construction under the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Energy Conservation Code, and related publications.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Comfort with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
