Department: Platform Engineering
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Location: Remote in EU (travel to Liege every 6 weeks)
Contract: Payroll or Freelance
At GAMING1, Platform Engineers are the builders and maintainers of the technical capabilities that power our internal developer platform. We treat our platform as a product, with our engineering teams as our customers, and our core principle is providing self-serviceability to reduce cognitive load and empower these teams.
YOUR ROLE
- Co-Design and implement platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
- Create self-service tools and automation that improve developer productivity
- Ensure security standards are applied and kept up to date
- Monitor performance, capacity, and availability from a customer-centric point of view
- Implement and validate disaster recovery procedures and processes
- Proactively test the flexibility and resilience of the platform
- Research, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies to drive platform innovation
- Evangelize platform capabilities through documentation and workshops
- Collect and act on user feedback to continuously improve the platform experience
YOUR PROFILE
- Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields
- Strong platform engineering mindset: focus on self-serviceability, automation, and developer experience
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Working knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
- Ability to write code for automation purposes (Python, .NET, or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer experience tools
- Knowledge of observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with PostgreSQL database systems, RabbitMQ message brokers, Kafka streaming platforms or IAM providers
