About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior M365 Platform Engineer to join our team in Vancouver for a 12-month contract. In this role, you will lead the architecture, optimization, and automation of our modern digital workplace environment. You will bridge operational excellence and platform engineering by automating administrative lifecycles, hardening identity and access controls, and resolving complex Tier-3 escalations across M365 and enterprise collaboration platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Configuration & Deployment: Configure, test, and deploy modern features, capabilities, and tenant-wide policies across Microsoft 365 and core workplace collaboration tools.
- Automation & Scripting: Design and maintain automated workflows, lifecycle operations, and integrations utilizing PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and webhooks.
- Security & Identity Governance: Partner directly with Identity, Network, and Information Security teams to enforce role-based access controls (RBAC), Single Sign-On (SSO), OAuth consent frameworks, and tenant security baselines.
- Tier-3 Engineering Support: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex Tier-3 cross-platform issues, conducting thorough root-cause analysis to deliver permanent preventative fixes.
- Platform Operations & Lifecycle: Lead vendor release management, monitor roadmap updates, maintain technical runbooks, and build operational health dashboards for the digital workplace stack.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 4–8 years of experience in enterprise SaaS administration, platform engineering, or systems engineering (Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience).
- Technical Depth: Deep, hands-on administration and engineering expertise across the M365 suite, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft 365 Groups, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Automation Skills: Demonstrated track record building scripts and automated tools using PowerShell, REST APIs, and webhook-driven integrations.
- Security & Governance: Solid foundation in enterprise identity controls, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), conditional access policies, and structured IT change management frameworks.
- Location & Presence: Must be locally based or willing to commute to our Vancouver office 4 days per week.
