Platform Engineer

Location: Perth CBD, Western Australia

We’re looking for a hands-on Platform Engineer (DevOps and SRE backgrounds very welcome) to join the AI platform team at a major Perth based resources company.

You’ll build and run the internal platform that other engineering squads rely on. The team treats the platform as an internal product, building golden paths and guardrails so product teams can ship safely across cloud, OT and edge environments.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and maintain reusable platform capabilities, golden paths and Terraform modules
• Build and improve CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions
• Deploy, operate and troubleshoot workloads on Kubernetes, OpenShift or managed Kubernetes
• Put observability in place: metrics, logs, traces, alerts and runbooks
• Write Python, TypeScript, Bash or Go to build automation, APIs and developer tooling
• Write documentation and how to guides so teams can self serve

What we’re looking for

• Hands on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or cloud engineering
• Production Kubernetes, OpenShift or EKS, with solid Linux skills
• AWS cloud native services, with a good feel for networking, security and cost trade offs
• Infrastructure as Code in production, ideally Terraform, plus CI/CD with GitHub Actions or similar
• Solid coding ability in Python, TypeScript, Bash or Go
• Security basics: identity, secrets management, least privilege
• Perth based with full right to work in Australia

• Developer portals or internal developer platform tooling
• OT, edge or network segregated environments
• Data intensive or AI/ML workloads
• Policy as code, governance or FinOps
