Platform Engineer (W2 ONLY And Pacific Hours)

Our client is searching for a Platform Engineer for a 6-12 month contract position that can be worked remotely.

***All candidates must work directly for TEKsystems on a W2 basis and no sponsorship is available***

Description

This position is needed to modernize and extend a suite of internal informatics applications a web dashboard and background services that act as the connective tissue between internal and external systems for instructional operations. The emphasis is cloud and edge services and clean integrations: moving work onto a managed edge platform, building new full-stack tools, and wiring third-party services and internal data together working directly with the technical and business owners against live systems in daily use.

Desired Skills and Experience

Cloud & edge services Cloudflare Workers, Access, and related offerings (and comparable AWS/Azure/GCP edge experience).

Prisma / Prisma Migrate on SQL Server (multi-schema).

Browser automation Playwright and Puppeteer; Vitest.

Comfortable in an AI-assisted, spec-driven workflow (Claude Code / agentic tooling).

Duties

Design and operate cloud edge services stand up a replicable, organization-owned Cloudflare Workers + Access pattern (with our Networking team) and move existing services onto it.

Build new full-stack systems e.g. a GUI and SQL backend for entering and maintaining Dual Enrollment course data.

Build the connective tissue between internal and external systems integrate third-party cloud platforms (pull data in, sync changes back) and embed components into other platforms.

Harden and extend the web apps SQL schema and migrations, CI/CD, and security/dependency hygiene on a live Next.js application.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
