Platform Support Engineer – Kafka & BAMOE

Location: Mexico colombia

Work Mode: 100% Remote

Working Hours: US Eastern Time

Job Description

We are looking for a Platform Support Engineer with experience in Apache Kafka, Confluent, and IBM BAMOE / Drools to provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Apache Kafka incidents, connectivity issues, consumer lag, and authentication failures.
  • Support Confluent Schema Registry and Kafka deployments on Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot IBM BAMOE, KIE Server, Drools rules, and DMN execution issues.
  • Investigate XML parsing and validation errors.
  • Support applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Manage incidents through ServiceNow and coordinate with CloudOps and application teams.
  • Participate in production support and on-call rotations.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Apache Kafka / Confluent.
  • Strong experience with IBM BAMOE, Red Hat PAM, or Drools.
  • Experience with Kafka consumer groups, Schema Registry, and OAuth/OIDC.
  • Working knowledge of AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
  • Experience with XML troubleshooting and ServiceNow.
  • Good production troubleshooting and communication skills.
