About Us

PETERBURG OPPENLÄNDER is a national law firm headquartered in Sydney CBD, providing legal services across Australia and internationally.

We invite expressions of interest from ambitious, intellectually curious and motivated PLT candidates and law graduates seeking practical exposure to professional legal practice.

The Opportunity

Participants will gain supervised educational exposure to property, family, civil litigation, commercial law, dispute resolution and the day-to-day operations of a legal practice.

Learning opportunities may include:

• Legal research and supervised drafting exercises.
• Observing litigation preparation, court proceedings and dispute resolution.
• Exposure to client conferences and professional legal communications.
• Developing legal analysis, problem-solving and professional skills.
• Understanding legal ethics, confidentiality and professional responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, research and communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity, initiative and sound judgment.
• Professionalism, confidence and attention to detail.
• Reliability, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Proficiency in Russian, Polish, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Slovenian, Serbian or Croatian will be highly regarded.

International law students and graduates are welcome, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.

Placement Details

• Location: Sydney CBD; potential hybrid or remote arrangements.
• Attendance: Preferably at least one day per week.
• Duration: By agreement.
• Nature: Supervised PLT placements or educational work experience.
• Remuneration: Unpaid, where legally permissible.
