The company partners with contract manufacturers across Asia and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, manufacturability expectations, and production timelines.
Job Responsibilities
Lead technical evaluation and validation of softgoods samples, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, material requirements, construction details, workmanship standards, functionality, and quality expectations.
Assess materials, construction methods, dimensions, functionality, and product performance throughout the sample development process.
Partner with Design Engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues, improve manufacturability, optimize product construction, and support development through production readiness.
Work closely with factory engineering and production teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive timely resolution of design and manufacturing challenges.
Support production readiness by evaluating manufacturing processes, process capabilities, quality controls, and supplier technical competencies, while driving CAPA initiatives for successful mass production.
Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and sample evaluation records, and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Product Development, and manufacturing partners to ensure project alignment and execution.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree with work experience in softgoods design and production.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
Minimum 5 Years Of Experience In a Relevant Position.
Experience managing personnel is not required.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of textile materials, sewn product construction, plush toy manufacturing, and softgoods production processes.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and evaluate product samples.
Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Working knowledge of product validation, laboratory testing, and applicable children's product safety regulations is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical judgment and analytical problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners.
Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information across diverse cultures.
Ability to take ownership, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to timely completion.
Language Requirements
Must be proficient in English and Chinese or Vietnamese.
Fluency in Chinese or Vietnamese is preferred. Experience working with Asian contract manufacturers and supplier development is preferred.
Willingness to travel throughout Asia to support product development and manufacturing activities is required.
