Job Description:

The Target Pay Range for this position is $140,000 - $176,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.


Job Overview


The P&O Director, R&D serves as a senior strategic partner to executive, global, or regional leadership, translating business strategies into People & Organization priorities and plans. This role goes beyond execution to co-create business strategies, drive systemic organizational changes, and lead key transversal P&O activities across the broader enterprise. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the P&O Director champions the Science & Diagnostics (SDx) Culture and Mars Five Principles, aligns organizational design with business objectives, and ensures that the Mars Five Principles and Associate Concept are deeply embedded in all leadership and people-related decisions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Senior Stakeholder Partnership: Partner directly with senior leaders, who can be SDx Global Leadership Team (LT) members, Global Functions Leaders, and Regional Leaders, serving as a key member of their leadership teams to influence and drive business growth through talent and organizational strategies.
  • Strategic Change Leadership: Anticipate, design, and lead complex organizational design initiatives and large-scale change management plans that enable future business growth, agility, and efficiency.
  • Transversal P&O Leadership: Lead high-visibility transversal P&O activities and/or communities as required across the organization, which may include things like leading Talent Management for Operations, shaping the Capabilities agenda for a function or region, steering enterprise-wide P&O projects, or establishing and fostering strategic P&O communities of practice.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Focus on long-term workforce planning strategies (IVCP, AEP, staffing models…) to ensure the organization has the necessary staff and capabilities to meet future demands.
  • COE Integration & Program Orchestration: Collaborate with global Centers of Expertise (COEs) including Talent Acquisition, Culture, Compensation & Benefits, Associate Relations, Talent, learning etc., to co-design and pilot enterprise-wide initiatives (PDP, MAS, Culture etc.). Lead the deployment of initiatives, ensure successful implementation, coach leaders and associates, follow and own success metrics.
  • Data-Driven Strategic Insights: Utilize workforce analytics, external benchmarks, and internal metrics to generate insights and build compelling business cases, influence strategic priorities, and measure the ROI of people programs.
  • Organizational Health & Culture Champion: Drive a high-performance culture across global and regional segments, promoting diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Associates Relations/Compliance: Address systemic workplace issues and provide senior-level guidance on employee relations cases in coordination with the AR team. Oversee compliance and risk mitigation at a systemic level, ensuring leadership decisions conform to employment laws, internal policies, and ethical standards, while maintaining deep alignment with the Five Principles.
  • Operations: ensure all organization and talent changes are properly documented and reflected within our systems for the assigned scope (letters, workday, job descriptions etc.)
  • If applicable: people Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports (where applicable) and serve as a key mentor to T2 P&O Business Partners, cultivating a high-performing and collaborative P&O community.

Education and Experience


  • Master’s Degree.
  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent senior-level HR certification strongly preferred.
  • 10–12+ years of progressive HR/P&O business partnering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or directing capacity.
  • Proven experience successfully partnering with executive or global/regional Leaders
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, talent management, talent acquisition etc.
  • Experience working in a matrixed global environment, preferably within veterinary diagnostic solutions, healthcare, or consumer goods.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
