We have helped over 55,000 families to achieve homeownership, supported the development of over 16,000 multifamily housing units, and manage thousands of Housing Choice Vouchers each year.
Behind that work is a commitment to advancing housing solutions through strong partnerships, thoughtful policy, and effective advocacy. We are looking for a Policy & Legislative Affairs Advisor to serve as New Hampshire Housing's lead advocate and strategic advisor on legislative, regulatory, and public policy matters. In this highly visible role, you'll help shape housing policy, build relationships with policymakers, and advance initiatives that support affordable housing across New Hampshire.
In this role, you will:
- Lead New Hampshire Housing's legislative and government affairs efforts, monitoring state and federal policy developments and shaping the organization's response to emerging opportunities, challenges, and priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director and senior leadership team, providing strategic counsel on legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues that impact New Hampshire Housing's mission, programs, and long-term goals.
- Build and strengthen relationships with elected officials, government agencies, industry partners, and key stakeholders, representing New Hampshire Housing in hearings, meetings, briefings, and other public forums.
- Advance the organization's legislative agenda by collaborating across departments to evaluate policy proposals, develop organizational positions, and advocate for initiatives that support affordable housing and community development.
- Develop policy positions, testimony, briefings, and strategic recommendations while equipping organizational leaders with the insights and context needed to effectively engage policymakers and influence housing policy decisions across New Hampshire.
To support onboarding and training, the initial weeks of employment will be conducted in-office. Following this period, remote work may be available on an intermittent basis, as determined by the manager.
