About the role The Portfolio Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic projects and programs, ensuring they are aligned with Tyro's strategic objectives and delivered on time, within budget, and achieve intended business outcomes. The role also has accountability for portfolio-wide release and implementation management, ensuring technology and business changes are deployed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to merchants and the business. Working across the business, the Portfolio Delivery Manager provides leadership for end-to-end delivery execution, release planning, business readiness, go-to-market and risk management, ensuring seamless transition from project delivery into operationalisation. What you'll do Portfolio Management Manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives, programs, and projects from initiation through implementation. Align portfolio priorities with organisational strategy and investment objectives. Monitor portfolio performance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, benefits, and risk. Manage interdependencies across initiatives, products, and business functions. Support portfolio planning, prioritisation, and sequencing. Delivery Leadership Lead the successful delivery of complex business and technology initiatives following the Tyro delivery model and utilising the Tyro toolkit . Remove delivery impediments and facilitate informed decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Release, Implementation and Business Readiness Own the portfolio release calendar, coordinating the scheduling of technology and business releases across multiple teams. Oversee release planning and implementation activities to ensure changes are delivered safely, predictably, and with minimal business disruption. Ensure implementation readiness through coordinated planning, business readiness assessments, go-to-market approach, deployment checklists, rollback planning, and business communications. Chair or facilitate release governance forums, including go/no-go decision meetings. Manage dependencies between releases and coordinate implementation activities across technology, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders. Monitor release performance and implementation outcomes, driving continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews and lessons learned. Ensure releases comply with change management, risk, security, and regulatory requirements. Governance & Reporting Adhere to portfolio governance frameworks. Produce executive dashboards and portfolio reporting that provide visibility of delivery progress, release readiness, risks, and benefits. Facilitate agreed governance forums. Ensure compliance with organisational delivery standards, governance requirements, and audit obligations. Stakeholder Management Build trusted relationships with executive, business, and technology leaders. Translate strategic priorities into executable delivery and release plans. Manage stakeholder expectations through proactive communication and transparent reporting. Influence decisions through data-driven insights and delivery expertise. Financial Management Manage portfolio budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Support investment governance, business case development, and benefits realisation. Ensure effective financial oversight across the delivery portfolio. Risk, Dependency & Change Management Identify, monitor, and mitigate portfolio-level risks and issues. Manage cross-program dependencies and delivery constraints. Ensure organisational change impacts are understood and implementation risks are effectively managed. Escalate critical delivery or release risks as appropriate. Resource & Capacity Management Partner with business, technology and where appropriate, change leaders, to optimise resource allocation. Monitor delivery capacity across teams and identify capability gaps. Support workforce planning to meet evolving portfolio demands. Continuous Improvement Drive improvements in delivery, release, and implementation management practices. Promote consistent governance, automation, and standardisation where appropriate. Leverage delivery metrics, implementation outcomes, and lessons learned to improve organisational delivery maturity. Demonstrated experience managing portfolios, programs, or enterprise-scale project delivery. Proven experience leading enterprise release management and implementation planning. Experience coordinating multiple concurrent releases across technology and business teams. Strong governance, risk management, and executive stakeholder management experience. Experience delivering digital transformation, regulatory, or enterprise change initiatives. Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery environments. What’s in it for you?
