The IT Portfolio Manager serves as a strategic trusted partner to Revenue Operations and Marketing, connecting business priorities, technology investments, delivery capacity, and measurable outcomes. This role develops and maintains an integrated portfolio view, enables informed prioritization, and provides leaders with decision-ready options, recommendations, and trade-offs.
The role works across business leaders, finance, Technical Product Owners, architects, data, and delivery teams to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and ensure investments remain aligned with enterprise priorities. This position is focused on portfolio strategy, value, and executive decision support.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Build and maintain an integrated, multi-year portfolio roadmap for Revenue Operations and Marketing that connects business outcomes, capability needs, technology investments, dependencies, and delivery sequencing.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to translate strategic priorities into a clear portfolio of initiatives, ensuring demand is evaluated against business value, strategic alignment, risk, complexity, funding, and available capacity.
- Lead portfolio intake, prioritization, roadmap, and business-review forums, presenting decision-ready options, trade-offs, impacts, and recommendations rather than status-only reporting.
- Analyze proposed investments and material changes to determine their effect on portfolio value, timelines, capacity, dependencies, technology platforms, and other business capabilities.
- Establish portfolio-level success measures in partnership with business owners and Finance, maintain approved value baselines, monitor adoption and realized outcomes, and recommend corrective actions when value is at risk.
- Coordinate across Technical Product Owners, architects, data and AI teams, Business Product Owners, and Project or Program Managers to provide end-to-end visibility while maintaining clear ownership boundaries between portfolio strategy, platform management, business outcomes, and delivery execution.
- Identify and advance opportunities for technology modernization, application rationalization, data enablement, responsible AI adoption, process improvement, and reuse of capabilities across Revenue Operations, Marketing, and the broader enterprise
Basic Qualifications:
- Prior experience in IT portfolio, program or business partnership roles, including at least 3 years supporting sales, revenue operations or marketing functions.
- Demonstrated experience translating business strategies and operating priorities into technology roadmaps, investment plans, and sequenced initiatives.
- Proven experience running demand intake, prioritization and roadmap governance across multiple business stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead though influence across teams, respectfully challenge assumptions, resolve competing priorities, and build trusted relationships without relying on direct authority.
- Experience facilitating innovation, prioritization, or governance discussions with senior business and technology leaders and presenting clear recommendations supported by business and portfolio data.
- Working knowledge of portfolio management, business-case development, capacity planning, value measurement, benefits realization, and technology investment governance.
- Experience modeling the impact of delays, new demand, capacity changes, dependency shifts and funding changes on value, cost and timeline, and presenting options with a clear recommendation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with strategic portfolio management tools such as Aha!, ServiceNow SPM or Jira Align.
- Familiarity with Revops or marketing process and technology.
- Use of AI to model scenarios, automate reporting or speed up portfolio decisions.
- Experience in enterprise software or SaaS environments.
- PfMP, PMP, SAFe or similar certification.
