Work Flexibility: Hybrid

Join Stryker’s Foot & Ankle Marketing team as a Portfolio Manager responsible for translating customer, market, competitive, clinical, and financial insights into actionable portfolio strategies. As an individual contributor, you will lead the commercial perspective across new product development and product lifecycle management, partnering with cross-functional and international teams to evaluate opportunities, guide investment decisions, and drive portfolio performance.

This role is based in Mahwah, NJ, and offers hybrid work flexibility. You will be expected to work onsite 2–4 days per week.

This position requires approximately 30% travel, including domestic and international destinations.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute portfolio strategies across new product development, commercialization, product launches, lifecycle management, and product obsolescence, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution.
  • Analyze customer insights, competitive intelligence, market research, industry trends, and qualitative and quantitative data to identify unmet needs, evaluate opportunities, and develop differentiated value propositions.
  • Evaluate and prioritize portfolio opportunities based on customer value, competitive positioning, strategic fit, technical feasibility, financial return, market access, and adoption dynamics.
  • Develop business cases, volume forecasts, pricing recommendations, and investment proposals by integrating market, competitive, economic, reimbursement, and financial assumptions, including potential risks and uncertainties.
  • Lead the commercial perspective throughout the product development lifecycle by partnering with Marketing, Research & Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and international teams to align customer needs with business objectives.
  • Create and communicate strategic plans, annual marketing plans, product launch plans, go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and resource allocation recommendations based on portfolio priorities and market opportunities.
  • Integrate clinical, product-use, and economic evidence into value propositions, evidence-generation priorities, publication strategies, and product messaging for relevant customer stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio and business performance using sales forecasts, market data, financial analysis, and Power BI dashboards to identify risks, opportunities, and actions to improve performance.

What You Will Need

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, product management, portfolio management, sales, Research & Development (R&D), finance, or a related business function.
  • Experience applying financial modeling, business case development, forecasting, or financial analysis to support business or portfolio decisions.
  • Experience in market segmentation, market analysis, global marketing, or portfolio strategy.
  • Experience working within or cross-functionally with Research & Development (R&D), Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, or Operations.
  • Experience supporting upstream marketing, downstream marketing, product management, portfolio management, or new product development.

Preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical devices, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience in orthopedics, surgical medical devices, or implantable medical devices.
  • Experience supporting products through multiple stages of the product lifecycle, including new product development, commercialization, launch, lifecycle management, or product obsolescence.
  • Experience conducting and translating Voice of Customer (VOC), market research, customer insights, and competitive intelligence into product or portfolio strategy.
  • Experience developing and interpreting financial models, business cases, forecasts, pricing analyses, profitability assessments, or investment recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience evaluating the financial attractiveness of new product or portfolio opportunities, including revenue potential, costs, margins, return on investment, and key financial risks and assumptions.
  • Experience supporting global product strategy or international commercialization, including collaboration with regional or international business teams.
  • Experience developing product positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies for new or existing products.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working directly with healthcare professionals or other clinical stakeholders to identify unmet needs and inform product development or portfolio decisions.

  • US20: $107,200 - $178,600 USD Annual

Work Flexibility

  • Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.

  • Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.

  • Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.

  • Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
