We are looking for a Power BI Lead to join our dynamic Tech, Data & AI team. The ideal candidate is a visionary and inspiring expert with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for problem-solving.
In this role, you will define and establish standards for BI engineering, including reporting best practices, quality gates, guidelines, and governance frameworks to ensure the efficient and consistent management of the BI landscape. You will drive adherence to these standards across the organization, ensuring consistency, quality, and reliability.
You will also take ownership of the central Power BI platform, collaborating closely with Business Intelligence teams and self-service users to optimize its management and adoption. Additionally, you will play a key role in simplifying and supporting the migration of the broader reporting landscape toward a more streamlined, efficient, and scalable BI environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Data Platform Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
Manage and optimize the Power BI platform: Oversee platform administration, establish a well-structured project architecture, manage access rights, and streamline delivery processes to ensure effective and consistent adoption across SCOR.
Establish technical standards and best practices: Provide technical leadership and guidance on Power BI development, defining standards and quality controls to ensure reliable solutions, robust production releases, and alignment with industry best practices.
Drive BI engineering transformation: Assess the existing BI landscape, identify and define migration strategies, evaluate technical complexity, and support the implementation of initiatives aimed at simplifying and modernizing the reporting ecosystem.
Address key reporting architecture challenges: Evaluate technical requirements and recommend the most suitable tools and technologies for different use cases, covering areas such as secure report sharing, on-demand versus precomputed data marts, audit trails, and reporting performance.
Empower teams and promote continuous learning: Support BI teams and self-service users in developing their Power BI expertise and increasing their autonomy, while staying up to date with emerging technologies and innovations, including AI-powered BI and automated insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders: Work closely with Business, Technology, Data & AI teams by contributing to workshops, design sessions, PI planning, sprint reviews, and other collaborative forums to drive continuous improvement and deliver meaningful enhancements to the reporting ecosystem.
Required Experience & Competencies
Professional Experience
7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or in a similar technical role, with a proven track record of working across complex, distributed BI and reporting ecosystems.
End-to-end experience across the BI lifecycle, including requirements analysis, data modeling, data mart development, report and dashboard development, maintenance, troubleshooting, and BI platform administration and upgrades.
NICE-TO-HAVE: hands-on experience in BI migration and modernization projects, including assessing existing environments, defining migration approaches, managing technical complexity, and delivering successful outcomes.
