Banding: Equivalent to Band 8a Location: North Yorkshire (Hybrid/Remote Working Available) Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience Are you an HCPC registered Psychologist with experience in autism assessments, neurodevelopmental pathways, and supporting children and young people? Pulse is recruiting on behalf of a leading healthcare provider for an exciting opportunity within a specialist autism diagnostic service. This role offers the chance to work as part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team delivering autism assessments for children and young people aged 4–18 years across North Yorkshire. Offering a salary of up to £55,000 pro rata, flexible working arrangements, and remote working opportunities, this position provides an excellent balance of autonomy, professional development, and meaningful clinical impact. Responsibilities As a Practitioner Psychologist, you will: Manage your own caseload, delivering autism diagnostic assessments for children and young people. Conduct specialist neurodevelopmental assessments in line with recognised clinical pathways and best practice guidance. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to diagnostic decision-making. Utilise recognised autism assessment tools, including ADOS-2 and ADI-R. Produce high-quality diagnostic reports for families, referrers, and partner professionals. Provide expert clinical advice and support to children, young people, families, and carers throughout the assessment process. Deliver clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists and other professionals where appropriate. Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and pathway enhancement projects. Participate in training, research activities, and continuing professional development. Qualifications and Experience Essential HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. Post-qualification training in autism assessment tools such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R. Significant experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions. Experience undertaking autism assessments within a multidisciplinary setting. Strong understanding of autism assessment pathways and relevant clinical guidance. Experience of safeguarding and risk assessment within children's services. Excellent clinical assessment, formulation, communication, and report-writing skills. Experience providing supervision to trainee or assistant psychologists and/or other healthcare professionals. Desirable Chartered Psychologist status. Leadership or management qualifications. Experience within CAMHS, community, or neurodevelopmental services. Additional experience assessing other neurodevelopmental conditions. Experience contributing to service development or quality improvement initiatives.
