About StrangeBee 🐝
StrangeBee started in 2018 with a simple idea from the creators of TheHive and Cortex: give security teams open tools that actually help them respond to incidents. Today, TheHive is used by thousands of security analysts in 43 countries. We’re a team of 90 people across Paris, Barcelona and the US, and we’re growing the hive.
Want to contribute?
How we work
Customer Centric: we build for real security teams facing real threats.
Quest for Excellence: “good enough” isn’t our standard.
Embrace Change: cyber moves fast, and so do we. If something could be better, say it.
One Team: trust, open communication and psychological safety, across titles and teams.
We’re looking for our first Pre-Sales Engineer in the US to be the technical partner of our sales team and the trusted advisor of our customers, from the first demo to long-term success. Based in the US, you’ll work hand in hand with our Account Executives, our Solutions team and our VP Sales to grow our presence in the region, building on proven processes and an existing customer base.
The essentials
Location: Remote, US-based, East Coast for overlap with our European teams
Contract: Full-time. You’ll start through our Employer of Record (Deel), then move to StrangeBee’s US entity once it opens
Reports to: Head of Solutions
Salary: 210 000 $ to 250 000$ year OTE : 70% fix, 30% variable
Travel: Onboarding period at our Paris office, then twice a year at HQ, plus US trade shows and customer visits
What you’ll do
Drive technical sales cycles with Account Executives: lead discovery calls, tailored demos and Proofs of Concept that turn technical interest into closed deals
Own POC success with prospects’ security teams: scope, run and follow up, making sure success criteria are clear, met and translated into business value
Represent StrangeBee at US trade shows and conferences, running live demos and engaging with SOC teams, CISOs and partners
Act as Technical Account Manager: lead customer onboarding and stay their go-to technical advisor across the full license lifecycle (adoption, best practices, expansion and renewals), with our support team
Be the bridge with HQ: share field and customer insights with Product and Sales in Paris and Barcelona, and help shape how pre-sales grows in the region
What success looks like
First 3 months: you’ve spent time with the team in Paris, you master TheHive and our demo and POC processes, and you’ve run your first customer sessions on your own
By 6 months: you’re fully autonomous on your time zone, leading POCs and onboardings, with a clear contribution to deals closed with our AEs
By 12 months: you’re the trusted technical reference for our US customers and prospects, and you’ve helped structure the split between pre-sales and post-sales as the team grows
What you bring
8+ years of experience in cybersecurity
You know incident response environments well, and you’ve worked with or alongside SOC, CSIRT or CERT teams
You’ve thrived in a startup or SME, wearing several hats and building processes as you go
You document clearly and structure your work so others can rely on it
You build trust easily, with customers as well as internal teams, and you’re comfortable speaking up
You’re curious and not afraid to try and learn, especially as tech keeps evolving (AI, for instance)
Native or near-native English, and you’re comfortable working daily with non-native speakers
Technical skills :
Linux Systems (Ubuntu, Debian)
Networks
Docker & Kubernetes
Nice to have
Experience in a pre-sales, Solutions Engineer or Technical Account Manager role at a software vendor
French or Spanish
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. This list is a guide, not a checklist. We care more about how you think and learn than about a perfect match.
What we offer
Remote work, with regular trips to our Paris HQ
Equipment: laptop and setup provided
Team life: offsites, team events, the TheHive community
A front-row seat: you’ll be part of opening StrangeBee’s US entity
Our hiring process
We keep it transparent and respectful of your time: 5 steps, all by video, and an answer at every stage, even if it’s a no.
Technical case study with a member of our Solutions team (1 hour)
Interview with the hiring manager (45 min)
Panel interview with members of our Solutions and Sales teams (1 hour)
Final fit interview with our Head of HR (30 min)
We may run a reference check before making an offer.
At StrangeBee, we hire for skills and potential. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. If you need any adjustment during the process, just let us know.
