Job Description: Pre-Sales Solution Architect

Role Overview

Are you ready to shape the future of enterprise cloud and AI? As a Pre-Sales Solution Architect for Iron Mountain InSight® DXP, you will serve as the deal strategist for enterprise customer engagements. Operating in a high-energy team with the speed and innovation of a tech startup—backed by a global industry leader—you will bridge complex customer business challenges with cutting-edge AI architectures.

Your mission is to win technical validation and accelerate customer deal cycles. Partnering directly with sales teams, you won't just draw diagrams or present slides—you will lead technical discovery, design production-grade solution architectures, build targeted Proof of Concepts (PoCs), tune extraction models, construct automated pipelines, and prove non-functional requirements (NFRs) across complex cloud environments to secure the technical win.

What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)

1. Pre-Sales Technical Execution & Discovery (Primary Focus)

  • Lead Technical Validation: Partner with sales teams to drive the technical sales cycle, leading discovery calls, architecture reviews, and technical workshops with customer engineering teams and technical buyers.
  • Execute Targeted PoCs: Design, build, and present hands-on Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilot solutions to validate solution viability, extraction accuracy, and non-functional requirements (p95 latency, throughput, security) against strict customer benchmarks.
  • Demonstrate Technical Value: Deliver high-impact technical product demonstrations, solution walk-throughs, and technical pitches that eliminate customer deployment friction and establish platform superiority.

2. Architectural Design & Workload Prototyping

  • End-to-End Solution Architecture: Lead architectural design and pre-sales prototyping of custom enterprise use cases, ensuring platform scalability, security, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and multi-tenant isolation.
  • Data Pipeline & Workflow Orchestration: Architect and build automated ingestion data pipelines, custom API connections (REST/GraphQL), and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) workflows operating flawlessly at scale.
  • Extraction Model & HITL Optimization: Configure and fine-tune machine learning models, Document AI extraction pipelines, and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) validation workflows during evaluation phases to demonstrate speed and accuracy over competitors.

3. Production Readiness & Field Feedback Loop

  • Scope & Transition: Develop version-controlled code repositories, reusable integration patterns, and standardized solution topology blueprints to define Statements of Work (SOWs) and ensure smooth handoffs to post-sales execution.
  • Customer Alignment: Work side-by-side with customer developers and system integrator (SI) teams during evaluations, guiding cloud migration patterns and platform best practices.
  • Co-Defining Tomorrow's Roadmap: Act as the technical voice of the customer, relaying real-world edge cases, model performance data, and builder feedback directly to R&D and Core Engineering to drive next-generation platform features.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications & Experience)

  • Pre-Sales & Technical Track Record: 5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales Engineering, Data Engineering, or Technical Consulting supporting enterprise cloud platforms.
  • Pre-Sales Execution Ability: Proven track record of guiding technical discovery, executing high-converting PoCs, and securing technical selection in competitive sales cycles.
  • Hands-on Scripting Proficiency: Active experience writing clean, demo-grade code and scripts in Python, Bash, SQL, and REST/GraphQL API integrations for solution prototyping and automation.
  • Cloud & Data Stack Expertise: Strong technical background in GCP or Azure infrastructure, database environments (MongoDB, PostgreSQL), and cloud-native serverless architectures.
  • AI/ML & IDP Mastery: Deep practical understanding of document classification, OCR/ICR extraction, schema design, model evaluation, and fine-tuning.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A startup growth mindset with a bias for action, creative problem-solving, and the technical confidence to debug complex deployment edge cases live with customers.

Success Measures

  • Technical win rate on pre-sales opportunities and enterprise deals.
  • Conversion rate of technical PoCs and pilots into active deployments.
  • Quality and velocity of pre-sales PoCs, solution blueprints, and prototype builds.
  • Field feedback contribution toward Product and Engineering roadmap improvements.

Travel Requirements : 20% to 30% dynamically based on customer needs.
