Precious Minerals Market Research & Supply Chain Mapping Specialist

About the Role

We are building a digital platform that connects verified small-scale miners, licensed buying centers,

and mineral aggregators to global buyers. We are seeking a research specialist who can map

Nigeria’s precious minerals ecosystem with accuracy, depth, and cultural sensitivity.

This role combines remote research, association engagement, and targeted field visits in safe and

accessible areas. You will identify and profile key players across Nigeria’s solid minerals value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured research on Nigeria’s precious minerals sector (gold, lithium, tin, lead,

coltan, wolframite).

• Engage state mineral associations, cooperatives, and buying centers through remote and

in-person channels.

• Identify and profile:

o Small-scale miners

o Licensed buying centers

o Mineral aggregators

o Export-ready suppliers

• Collect detailed data on:

o Mineral types

o Production volumes

o Pricing patterns

o Verification status

o Contact persons

o Operational capacity

• Build a structured database of verified supply-side actors.

• Produce a comprehensive research report within 6–8 weeks.

Must-Have Requirements

• Proven experience in market research, field research, or supply chain mapping.

• Prior exposure to solid minerals, agriculture aggregation, rural trade, or community-based

research.

• Ability to engage stakeholders through remote interviews, association channels, and

targeted field visits.

• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

• Fluency in English + at least one local language (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, or regional dialects).

• Ability to work independently and deliver within defined timelines.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working with:

o Miners Association of Nigeria

o State mineral associations

o Buying centers

o Mineral traders

• Existing network within mining communities.

• Experience conducting research in environments requiring sensitivity and situational

awareness.

• Ability to produce geo-tagged reports and structured databases.
