Who are we?

At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries.

Disclaimer:

Finastra has signed an agreement to sell its Universal Banking business to Pollen Street Capital, with completion expected end 2026 / early 2027, subject to consultation and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success.

Help shape the future of one of banking's most established Core Banking platforms.

We're looking for an experienced Core Banking professional to join our Product Management team as a Principal Business Analyst, supporting the continued evolution of Equation.

This is not a traditional Business Analyst role focused solely on requirements gathering. We're seeking a functional expert with deep Core Banking knowledge and strong product thinking who can help define future capabilities, solve complex business challenges, and influence the direction of a platform used by financial institutions around the world.

You will work at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering, Services, Customer Success, and clients, helping to transform customer needs into scalable product solutions.

If you have experience with Equation, we'd especially love to hear from you. Equally, if you've worked with another leading Core Banking platform and are looking to apply your expertise in a mature, globally adopted solution, this is an excellent opportunity to become a recognised subject matter expert within a market-leading organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess customer enhancement requests and determine whether solutions already exist, can be achieved through configuration, or require new product development.
  • Define and shape new capabilities across key Core Banking domains.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to influence product strategy and roadmap priorities.
  • Support Customer Success and Support teams with complex client issues, functional investigations, and solution design.
  • Produce high-quality functional specifications, business requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and Implementation teams to deliver scalable and effective solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Core Banking functionality, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Lead AI-enabled transformation across multiple teams and programmes by driving automation, improving productivity, upholding data quality and ethical standards, and turning trusted insights into measurable business outcomes and better decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with the Equation Core Banking platform.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Specialist, or Subject Matter Expert within Financial Technology.
  • Strong understanding of Core Banking products, operations, and business processes.
  • Expertise in areas such as deposits, lending, customer account management, servicing, or related banking domains.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • A naturally analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex business problems.

Nice to Have

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Temenos, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or another leading Core Banking platform.
  • Retail, Commercial, or Islamic Banking.
  • Product Management or product strategy.
  • Banking transformation and modernisation programmes.
  • API-driven and integration-led banking solutions.

Why Join Us?

  • Influence the strategic direction of a globally used Core Banking platform.
  • Work directly with Product Management on innovation and product enhancement initiatives.
  • Become a recognised functional expert within the Core Banking domain.
  • Solve complex business and customer challenges that have real-world impact.
  • Collaborate with experienced product, banking, and technology professionals.
  • Help shape the next generation of Core Banking capabilities.

About You

You're likely an Equation SME, Core Banking specialist, Functional Consultant, Product Analyst, or experienced Business Analyst who enjoys tackling complex banking challenges and wants to drive genuine product outcomes, not just document requirements.

If you're passionate about Core Banking and want to help shape the future of a platform trusted by banks across the globe, we'd love to hear from you.
