Do you want to help us in our mission, creating a safe and secure world together, whilst working on projects that are truly unique?
The Royal Navy rely on our engineering, project management and digital teams to keep their submarines at sea and submariners safe. They Protect our Nation and we help to Protect them.
At Babcock we have a true culture of opportunity – with business contracts that last decades and structured career development pathways that can take you in all kinds of directions; you will grow, develop, and achieve more than you ever thought possible. There has never been a better time for you to join Babcock Submarine Support and play your part in protecting the protectors.
The Role
As a Principal Business Performance Data Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of driving business performance through data, insight, and digital innovation. Acting as a subject matter expert within the Naval Nuclear Portfolio Management Office, you'll bridge the gap between business priorities and technical solutions, helping transform complex information into meaningful intelligence that enables smarter decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence high-profile programmes that support national security, while developing your expertise within one of the UK's leading defence, aerospace and engineering organisations. You'll play a key role in advancing reporting capabilities, improving business efficiency, and supporting data-driven transformation across a complex and dynamic environment.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the delivery of business performance analytics, reporting solutions, and management insight across a complex delivery portfolio.
- Translate business requirements into dashboards, reports, performance measures, and analytical solutions that drive decision-making.
- Develop and improve reporting, automation, and data visualisation capabilities to enhance business performance.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and quality assurance across analytical outputs and reporting activities.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence strategic decisions through clear, evidence-based insight.
What you’ll need:
- Significant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, business performance, or performance reporting within complex organisations.
- Demonstrated expertise in data visualisation, reporting, performance management, and analytical problem-solving.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through data-led insight and recommendations.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting the development of others without formal line management responsibility.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills.
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can demonstrate relatable experience and a great attitude then we would like to hear from you.

Our Benefits
We offer you fantastic total rewards, and the ability to have real flexibility - including working from home up to 3 days a week, and a ‘9 day fortnight’ working pattern. It’s what sits at the heart of our fantastic and friendly environment, where you’ll feel truly welcome.
