The Impact You'll Have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is hiring a Principal Compliance Improvement Consultant in Eagan, MN. This role is instrumental in strengthening the organization's compliance and risk management framework by driving the development, execution, and oversight of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs). By closely collaborating with business and compliance subject matter experts, you will help ensure corrective actions are effective, sustainable, and aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. This position serves as a key driver of compliance effectiveness, risk reduction, and organizational transparency while supporting the enterprise's commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. You will work alongside business partners to help identify root causes, develop practical solutions, and support implementation of meaningful corrective actions that strengthen processes and reduce future risk. Through relationship building, facilitation, and project leadership, you will help translate compliance findings into lasting operational improvements across the organization. What You'll Do Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop, implement, and oversee CAPs that address compliance and regulatory risks. Lead root cause analysis, impact assessments, and process evaluations to identify sustainable solutions and drive lasting operational improvements. Manage corrective action plan execution by tracking progress, monitoring milestones, and escalating risks or barriers as needed. Facilitate enterprise governance activities by preparing materials, providing updates, and supporting discussions for the Enterprise Ethics and Compliance corrective action plan committee. Consult with business partners to translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into practical, actionable processes that strengthen risk management and compliance effectiveness. How You'll Do It Facilitate development and execution of CAPs and implementation plans, in collaboration with business SMEs. This may include process evaluations, facilitating root cause, and impact analyses. Lead project management of CAP progress tracking, reporting, and escalation as needed. Maintain CAP status dashboards and tracking systems for real-time visibility. Prepare materials and provide updates for the Enterprise Ethics and Compliance (EE&C) CAP Subcommittee meetings. Conduct real-time evaluations of CAP prioritization, risk levels, categorization, ownership flow, and vetting cadence, utilizing tracking tools to support decision making. Support other areas of the Compliance team as needed, with assessments, monitoring, consulting, and external regulatory audit response facilitation. Performs additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the role, as assigned. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of related compliance & regulatory affairs professional experience. Bachelor’s degree; in lieu of a degree, an additional two years of relevant experience beyond the qualifications listed above may be accepted. Preferred Skills & Experience Master's degree in related field. Ability to translate complex information into actionable messaging, actively listen to diverse perspectives, and drive alignment across cross-functional priorities. Ability to analyze complex challenges, evaluate tradeoffs, and collaborate with stakeholders to reach effective, lasting solutions. Ability to effectively organize work, balance shifting priorities, and manage time across multiple workstreams to meet commitments. Business analysis expertise, regulatory research, and ability to translate regulatory requirements into operations. Ability to interpret and apply applicable federal and state regulations. Healthcare or insurance industry experience. Experience with Medicare/Medicaid regulatory programs. Experience with CMS, DOH, and state regulatory filings. Experience drafting responses or presenting to boards, compliance committees, or regulatory bodies. Experience leading process improvement initiatives, facilitating root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable corrective actions. Experience influencing and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive organizational change and risk reduction efforts. Experience managing complex projects, priorities, and implementation activities across multiple business areas. Licensure/Certifications Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) - Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) - Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) - Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State Board of Accountancy Role Designation Hybrid Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a minimum of 2 days onsite. Onsite is full-time onsite. Anchored in Connection Our hybrid approach is designed to balance flexibility with meaningful in-person connection and collaboration. We come together in the office two days each week – most teams designate at least one anchor day to ensure team interaction. These in-person moments foster relationships, creativity, and alignment. The rest of the week you are empowered to work remote. Compensation and Benefits $90,800.00 - $120,300.00 - $149,800.00 Annual Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
