🚀 Principal Data Engineer / Data Architect | Remote Romania

Senovo IT is looking for a Principal Data Engineer / Data Architect to join a central team of architects and lead engineers, working at the intersection of data engineering, architecture and product.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone with a strong product data or complex cross-enterprise data background, who can build a long-term data vision while identifying what needs to be delivered now and what should come later.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Architects
• Define long-term data architecture and practical roadmaps
• Guide teams on data modelling, pipelines and cross-system data flows
• Work with complex product/master data, hierarchies and dependencies
• Design solutions across EDW, Azure Synapse and Databricks
• Support migrations towards modern lakehouse architectures
• Shape data marts, semantic/tabular models and Power BI datasets
• Establish reusable engineering patterns, standards and best practices
• Stay hands-on with SQL and PySpark/Databricks

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in Data Engineering, Architecture or similar
• Strong SQL, dimensional/Kimball modelling and performance tuning
• Strong hands-on Databricks, PySpark and Delta Lake experience
• Experience with Synapse and/or EDW migrations
• Deep knowledge of data modelling and complex data flows
• Experience with product or master data
• Strong experience with Power BI / semantic models / DAX
• Proven ability to influence and drive best practices across multiple teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
