Role description: Arcadis seeks a Principal Industrial Water Wastewater Engineer / Sector Solution Leader to join Arcadis’ Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team in Atlanta, Georgia. This senior seller/doer role is intended for a recognized industrial water leader who is passionate about helping clients solve complex water, wastewater, reuse, and sustainability challenges while growing a successful industrial water practice in North America. The ideal candidate will be a recognized industrial water leader with deep technical expertise, strong client relationships, and a proven ability to grow and deliver a successful business. The successful candidate will lead strategic growth initiatives within the Data Center sector while supporting opportunities across other industrial markets including Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, and Chemicals. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for developing client relationships, originating and advancing opportunities, leading major pursuits, and delivering complex industrial water, wastewater, reuse, and resource recovery projects. This individual will serve as both a trusted advisor to clients and a senior technical leader within Arcadis’ IWTO team. This role offers the opportunity to influence market strategy, develop key accounts, lead multidisciplinary teams, and execute projects through a variety of delivery models including consulting, EPCM, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and other alternative delivery approaches. Role accountabilities: Business Growth and Client Leadership: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with existing and prospective industrial clients. Lead business development activities including opportunity identification, positioning, proposal development, interviews, and pursuit leadership. Develop, maintain, and advance a robust portfolio of opportunities that supports sustained growth of the Industrial Water practice. Collaborate with Arcadis client account teams, sector leaders, and technical experts to expand client relationships and increase market presence. Represent Arcadis through industry engagement, thought leadership, technical publications, and conference participation. Project Delivery and Technical Leadership: Lead the planning, design, execution, and optimization of industrial water, wastewater, water reuse, and resource recovery projects. Serve as Project Director, Technical Director, Design Manager, or Subject Matter Expert on complex projects and major capital programs. Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical oversight of process evaluations, design basis development, treatment technology selection, treatability studies, engineering design packages, and construction support activities. Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with client expectations and Arcadis quality standards. Alternative Delivery: Lead the planning, design, execution, and optimization of industrial water, wastewater, water reuse, and resource recovery projects. Serve as Project Director, Technical Director, Design Manager, or Subject Matter Expert on complex projects and major capital programs. Lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical oversight of process evaluations, design basis development, treatment technology selection, treatability studies, engineering design packages, and construction support activities. Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with client expectations and Arcadis quality standards. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. 20+ years of industrial water and wastewater experience preferred. Demonstrated success developing, winning, and delivering industrial water and wastewater projects for industrial clients. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and major capital projects. Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and project delivery. Strong communication, leadership, and client engagement skills. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience serving Data Center, Semiconductor, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Advanced Manufacturing, Chemical, or Energy clients. Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, EPCM, or other alternative delivery models. Experience in a regional, national, or global leadership role.
