Principal iOS Engineer (Swift)

1. Overview

La Voie's client is the Vietnam engineering arm of a Japan-headquartered SaaS company that runs a leading cloud-based project management platform for the construction industry, used by several hundred thousand people. The platform covers site communication, schedule coordination, quality checks, order control, and management improvement.

Engineers in Vietnam do creative product work, not task-consuming. They build for real users on construction sites, in an international environment with strong exposure to new languages and frameworks. Their culture is professional, mission-driven, customer-focused, and technology-first.

2. Job Description

You'll be a senior technical anchor for the mobile product, in a small, cross-functional squad that covers design, development, testing, and operations. The product you own will be matched to your skills and preferences.

• Design and implement product features in Swift and other mobile technologies such as Flutter.
• Refactor existing apps, improve performance, and cut regression-testing cost through well-designed test code.
• Design and build a high-performance camera module and drawing functions.
• Design and implement APIs linked with the backend.
• Define requirements and specifications with product managers, designers, and QA.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in mobile technology, and apply them to the product.

Environment: Swift, Dart; RxSwift, Flutter; AWS and GCP; CircleCI, Bitrise, Fastlane, GitHub Actions; GitHub; Confluence; Jira.

3. Job Requirement

What we expect:

• 8+ years building native iOS applications in Swift.
• Clean Architecture and SOLID design experience, and choosing frameworks and technologies based on application requirements.
• Experience as a technical lead across the full project lifecycle.
• Writing high-quality code for security, performance, and scalability, and handling scalability as the service grows.
• Strong algorithms, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a record of improving app performance.
• Experience with both UIKit and SwiftUI.
• Asynchronous and reactive programming skills.
• Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong test-writing discipline, plus knowledge of mobile application security.
• Regular code reviews and constructive feedback to teammates, and participation in project planning to keep quality and delivery on track.
• Continuously discovering, evaluating, and adopting new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Smooth communication with team members and stakeholders, and good English communication.
• Genuine alignment with the company's mission and values.

What would be helpful:

• Building a project from scratch.
• Supervising, mentoring, and motivating a mobile development team, and monitoring team performance.
• Project documentation and project management skills.
• Hybrid app development with Flutter (Dart).
• Android native (Kotlin) experience.
• Test automation experience.
