At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

About the Role:

As a Principal Project Manager, you will join the leadership team for a major nuclear component replacement project and provide project management leadership for a critical scope within one of Westinghouse’s most visible and strategically important operating plant projects.

You will have primary project management responsibility for a major engineered equipment scope, including coordination of design, procurement, fabrication, qualification, delivery, and project interfaces associated with specialized equipment required to support replacement of major reactor components.

In addition to leading this scope, you will support broader integration and execution across the project, working closely with engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, field services, project controls, suppliers, and the customer. You will manage complex work, resolve cross-functional issues, and help lead successful execution of a complex nuclear project involving significant engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and field execution interfaces.

You will report to the Project Director and will be based out of our Cranberry Township, PA facility. This is a mobile position that is required on site 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management and execution of a major engineered equipment scope from design and procurement through fabrication, delivery, and site implementation.
  • Manage and integrate all aspects of assigned project scope, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.
  • Manage the project interface with major equipment suppliers and subcontractors, including schedule, technical interfaces, deliverables, actions, risks, commercial coordination, and overall execution.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, cost forecasts, risk registers, action tracking, and other project controls necessary to successfully execute assigned scope.
  • Integrate supplier activities and deliverables with the overall project schedule and major project milestones.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination among engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, field services, supply chain, commercial, project controls, and other organizations.
  • Identify emerging issues, risks, constraints, and cross-functional dependencies and drive mitigation, recovery, resolution, or escalation as appropriate.
  • Support customer communications and project reviews, including presentation of project status, schedule, risks, upcoming activities, and required decisions.
  • Interpret and communicate project and contractual requirements and support effective management of changes affecting assigned scope.
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and project partners.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project team members and support a collaborative, accountable project culture.
  • Support broader project initiatives and leadership needs as priorities evolve through execution.
  • Identify lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement and apply them to improve project performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant job experience required, with applicable disciplines including Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of applicable project management experience in technical industries such as nuclear power, engineering, manufacturing, construction, or major component delivery.
  • Experience managing moderate to high-complexity projects and leading project teams.
  • Experience with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, suppliers, and field execution.
  • Nuclear industry and major component replacement experience preferred.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
