Role Overview We are looking for a Principal Solutions Consultant – Cybersecurity to act as a senior strategic and technical advisor across Application Security, Data Security and Identity & Access Management. The role is focused on complex and strategic client engagements where cybersecurity requirements extend beyond a single product or domain. The Principal Solutions Consultant connects capabilities across Fortify, Voltage and NetIQ, translating client priorities and security challenges into coherent solution approaches and relevant use cases. Alongside strong technical credibility, the role requires a strategic and client-focused mindset and a practical understanding of AI, including how AI can strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and how enterprise AI adoption creates new security requirements. The role covers clients in German-speaking and international markets and is carried out in both languages, so fluency in German and English is required . Key Responsibilities Act as a senior strategic and technical advisor and subject matter expert for complex cybersecurity opportunities and strategic client engagements. Take a cross-portfolio approach , connecting capabilities across: Application Security Data Security Identity & Access Management Understand the client’s business and security priorities and translate them into relevant solution approaches and use cases. Identify opportunities where multiple cybersecurity capabilities can address a broader client requirement rather than positioning individual products in isolation. Lead technical discovery, workshops and solution discussions with security leaders, architects and other senior client stakeholders, in German and in English. Shape solution approaches for complex and strategic opportunities, balancing business requirements, technical feasibility and client value. Support and drive demonstrations, technical evaluations and Proofs of Concept where appropriate. Develop reusable cross-portfolio use cases, solution approaches, technical narratives and demonstration concepts. Bring a strong understanding of AI, Generative AI and emerging AI technologies , including their impact on cybersecurity and the new security requirements created by enterprise AI adoption. Identify practical opportunities for applying AI within cybersecurity solutions and client use cases. Contribute to technical enablement and knowledge sharing across the wider organization. Bring client and market feedback into Product Management and Engineering to help identify portfolio gaps, integration opportunities and emerging requirements. Collaborate across the wider OpenText portfolio where client requirements extend beyond cybersecurity. Experience & Capabilities The ideal candidate combines technical depth, strategic thinking and strong client-facing skills . Candidates are not expected to bring all of the areas below in equal depth. Strong expertise in one cybersecurity domain, together with the ability to work across the others, matters more than deep knowledge of every area. Must-haves Significant experience in cybersecurity Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, Security Architecture or a comparable client-facing technical role. Strong expertise in at least one of Application Security, Data Security or Identity & Access Management, with a working understanding of the other two. Experience with complex enterprise security environments and strategic client opportunities. Strong technical discovery and solution-design skills, including the ability to connect technologies into broader cybersecurity use cases. Ability to engage credibly with both technical specialists and senior client stakeholders. Fluent German and English, written and spoken, with the ability to run workshops, demonstrations and executive discussions and to produce client-facing material in both languages. Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills, and the ability to translate technical capabilities into clear client value. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across Sales, Product Management and Engineering. An interest in how AI is changing cybersecurity and a willingness to bring it into client conversations. Nice-to-haves Depth in more than one of Application Security, Data Security and Identity & Access Management. Familiarity with the OpenText Cybersecurity portfolio (Fortify, Voltage, NetIQ) or comparable tools in these areas. Practical knowledge of AI, Generative AI and LLM technologies and their implications for enterprise cybersecurity. Experience developing reusable use cases, solution approaches or demonstration concepts. Exposure to a broader technology portfolio beyond cybersecurity. What Success Looks Like The Principal Solutions Consultant becomes a trusted advisor for our most complex and strategic cybersecurity engagements. They can move from an individual client challenge to a broader security conversation, identify where Fortify, Voltage and NetIQ can create value individually or together, and shape a coherent technical approach around the client’s environment and priorities. They do this equally well in German and in English, depending on what the client and the audience need. Success means stronger technical engagement with strategic clients, more relevant cross-portfolio opportunities, reusable use cases and solution approaches, and closer alignment between client needs and how we position the cybersecurity portfolio.
