Principal SW Engineer (E-Wallet Product / C#.Net)

ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, an International Technology Services Provider, with a focus on offering ISO-compliant, high-performant, and secure e-Wallet Apps for corporate and government clients, is looking for a Principal SW Engineer to join their Product Team.

Workplace Location: Company premises are located in Athens, however there is Hybrid OR Fully Remote work option - for non Attiki Residents

(You need to be based in Greece and holder of a valid EU Work Permit)

What you will be doing:

As a Principal SW Engineer you will be part of the Product Development team, supporting and driving the architectural evolution of the company's Wallet product and digital identity platforms.

More specifically, you will:

• Design and architect secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions using mainly the .NET Framework
• Lead solution architecture discussions and provide technical direction across multiple product components and engineering teams
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external technology partners to understand business and technical requirements
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex n-tier, distributed, and cloud-based system issues across application, database, infrastructure, network, and third-party integration layers
• Optimize and maintain existing systems for scalability, resiliency, security, and performance
• Design and implement clean, scalable, maintainable, and secure code using .NET programming languages
• Act as the technical escalation point for critical production issues and perform root-cause analysis for complex platform incidents
• Lead vendor product integrations and troubleshoot interoperability issues involving external platforms, SDKs, APIs, identity providers, and cloud services
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, performant, functional, and fully tested software solutions
• Drive architecture best practices, software design standards, and engineering excellence across the development lifecycle
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions
• Mentor senior and junior engineers while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Remain up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and software architecture best practices

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field ONLY
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably product development using OOP languages, with strong expertise in .NET technologies including .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework
• Proven experience in Solution Architecture and designing large-scale enterprise applications
• Experience in end-to-end SDLC in either Waterfall or Agile methodologies
• Experience working with large-scale, international, or mission-critical software platforms
• Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native application design
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges across multi-tier application environments
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, domain-driven design, and modern engineering principles
• Experience designing highly available, secure, and resilient systems
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database architecture, performance tuning, and relational database management systems
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Proficiency with code versioning tools such as Git
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, and production support best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and architecturally
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical direction across multiple projects
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills
• Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written

Any Experience in the following will be highly desirable:

• Experience in OAuth/OpenID Connect (strongly preferred) and IdentityServer4
• Experience in Digital Identity, Mobile ID, Wallet, Authentication, or Security-focused products
• Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in Software Product Development
• Experience troubleshooting and integrating third-party/vendor products, APIs, SDKs, and enterprise platforms
