AssureCare is looking for a Principal Writer / Technical Writer to own our RFP, RFI and proposal responses, including the technical and security answers at their core, and to write the whitepapers, case studies and other long-form content that make AssureCare credible to health plans and pharmacy organizations when you are between responses. You will run each pursuit from intake to submission, write and check accurate technical and commercial content on our platform, and build the library of approved answers behind it. You will work daily with Sales, Product, technical and security subject-matter experts, Clinical, Legal, Finance and Marketing & Communications, across some of the most complex buying environments in healthcare, including state and federal government solicitations.
What You’ll Do
- Run each pursuit end to end. Lead every RFP, RFI and proposal from opportunity intake to submission. Break requirements into a compliance matrix, set the timeline with the pursuit lead, assign SMEs, draft, edit and submit on time, across concurrent, overlapping pursuits.
- Run the SOP. Run the RFI and RFP SOP from intake and bid or no-bid input through kickoff, reviews, submission, clarifications, orals and a debrief that feeds the library.
- Manage the schedule, contributors and reviews. Build the work-back plan and hold contributors across Sales, Product, Clinical, Operations, Legal and Finance to their deadlines. Organize color-team reviews (pink, red and gold) against the evaluation criteria, and own final assembly and quality control.
- Write accurately on the platform. Write and check answers on integrations, architecture, security, privacy and compliance, implementation and support across MedCompass, AssureRx, Akumen, Aktivate and our AI capabilities, confirming every answer with the right subject-matter expert.
- Understand what you write. Use the library as your starting point, but know the content well enough to tailor each answer to the question, spot gaps and flag risks, not copy and paste.
- Make it persuasive and tailored. Write executive summaries, technical and management narratives, staffing plans and past-performance sections in a clear, member-centered voice. Weave win themes from the capture strategy through every volume, and adapt tone and emphasis for health plan, pharmacy and government evaluators.
- Turn pricing into plain language. Turn approved pricing from the pricing calculator into clear commercial sections, term sheets and decks, within the Contract Review and Approval Policy.
- Keep one source of truth. Build and maintain a library of approved answers, references, security documents, templates and past performance, with an owner and a review date on every item.
- Measure every pursuit. Track each pursuit in HubSpot and report on-time rate, advance rate, win rate and SME hours per response.
- Research-driven pieces. Write whitepapers and industry reports that make our point of view clear and credible to health plan and pharmacy leaders, and turn implementations and results into case studies.
- Executive and sales content. Draft bylines and articles for AssureCare in partnership with Marketing & Communications, plus product overviews, web content and sales enablement materials.
- One voice. Apply AssureCare's messaging framework, voice and plain-language standards to every piece, working with Marketing & Communications, so proposals, content and campaigns tell one story.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience. 8+ years of professional writing in B2B healthcare or health technology, including RFP and proposal responses, technical documentation or solutions content, and at least 3 years in healthcare technology, payer, pharmacy or state government procurement.
- Technical fluency. Working knowledge of software integrations (such as APIs, HL7 and FHIR), cloud and SaaS architecture, and information security and privacy (such as HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST and customer security questionnaires), enough to write and check technical and security answers, not only reuse them. You learn complex software quickly and explain it accurately.
- Writing. Clear, accurate writing with a point of view, and a portfolio of proposals and long-form content such as whitepapers or reports.
- Research and synthesis. You can interview SMEs, interpret data and turn complex clinical, technical and market information into credible narratives.
- Project discipline. You can run several concurrent deadlines and keep busy SMEs moving.
- Health IT and commercial fluency. Comfort writing about care management, utilization management, pharmacist clinical services and healthcare data, and turning pricing models such as PMPM, per user and per store into plain commercial language.
- Tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and SharePoint or similar collaboration tools.
- Education. A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as English, communications, journalism, health administration or a technical discipline.
- Domain and procurement knowledge. Experience with UM, CM, MTM, Medicaid, HIPAA and interoperability standards, and familiarity with state and federal procurement and compliance requirements.
- Response operations. Built or ran a response library or knowledge base, used proposal management software, and handled security questionnaires, orals, best and final offers and clarification rounds.
- Tools. Experience with an RFP response platform (such as Loopio, Responsive or Qvidian), HubSpot or another CRM, a project management tool such as Asana or Smartsheet, and AI writing tools used responsibly.
- Technical background or advanced education. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science or health informatics, or equivalent hands-on technical experience, ideally including security or integration work.
- Certification. Shipley Associates or APMP training or certification, or a security or cloud certification (such as CompTIA Security+ or a cloud practitioner credential).
