Process Expert Commercial Planning Fulltime (38 hours per week)
As a Process Expert Commercial Planning, you help make sure our commercial planning processes work as smoothly and efficiently as possible. You look at how we plan, forecast and bring our assortment to our stores, identify where things can be improved and work with the business and IT to turn those insights into practical solutions. You’ll play an important role in improving the way Action plans its business today; while helping us build processes and systems that can support our continued international growth.
This is your daily action
- Look at our commercial planning processes from end to end and identify opportunities to make them simpler, faster and more efficient
- Analyse process and performance issues, identify root causes and translate your findings into practical improvements
- Work closely with Commercial Planning teams to understand their challenges and improve the way they work
- Identify where data, systems or ways of working are slowing down the planning process and help develop better solutions
- Work closely with IT, product teams and external system partners to improve planning tools and systems
- Take ownership of process improvements from identifying an opportunity through to implementation
- Introduce new ways of working and work with teams to make sure improvements are adopted and continue to work in practice
- Work across different teams and departments to make sure changes work well across the full planning process
- Contribute to strategic projects that improve Action’s planning capabilities, including Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning and Demand Forecasting
This is you
You enjoy understanding how things work and are naturally curious about how processes, systems and data can be improved. You like solving problems, but you don’t stop at finding a quick fix; you want to understand the root cause and find a solution that works in the long term.
You are analytical and structured, but also comfortable working with people. You can translate a business challenge into a clear problem and work with different stakeholders to find a practical solution. You enjoy working between business and IT and are confident asking questions, challenging existing ways of working and bringing people along with you.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where things are constantly changing. You’re comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time, taking ownership of your work and making sure improvements are actually implemented. Most importantly, you’re someone who is curious, solution-oriented and motivated by making things work better.
In addition:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- You have 3-5 years of relevant work experience, for example in retail, purchasing, commercial planning, supply chain or process improvement
- You have an affinity with planning processes, systems and data
- You are comfortable working with Excel and enjoy working with data and systems
- You have a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
- You communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written
- You are comfortable working with different stakeholders and can connect business needs with IT solutions
- You are able to work independently, take ownership and manage multiple projects at the same time
