In this strategic role, you will lead category management, procurement and contract management activities across ASIC's Technology & Digital portfolio, delivering value-for-money outcomes and fostering strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.

  • EL1 – ($129,556–$151,534) depending on experience, plus 15.4% superannuation
  • A permanent opportunity
  • Applications close at 11:59pm AEST, 21 October 2026

The team

Enterprise Services provides critical business support functions across ASIC, including Finance, Procurement, Property & Contracts, Performance Reporting & Planning, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program. The Procurement team serves as ASIC's centre of procurement expertise, delivering category management, procurement governance and contract management support across the organisation, with a focus on achieving efficient, transparent and value-driven procurement outcomes.

The role

As the Procurement & Category Manager - Technology & Digital (EL1), you will lead the strategic management of Technology & Digital categories within your portfolio. You will partner closely with business stakeholders to develop category strategies, manage complex procurements, strengthen supplier relationships and improve contract management maturity across ASIC. You will also lead a team and contribute to procurement capability uplift across the organisation.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Leading end-to-end ICT, infrastructure and technology-related category strategies, including demand planning, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, total cost of ownership and benefits realisation.
  • Delivering complex, high-value and high-risk ICT and infrastructure procurements while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation, policy and governance requirements.
  • Providing strategic procurement and commercial advice across the full procurement lifecycle.
  • Developing category roadmaps informed by market intelligence, spend analytics and emerging technology trends.
  • Managing procurement risks, including supplier dependency, cyber risk, data risk and market constraints.
  • Establishing and embedding supplier relationship management (SRM) frameworks and governance mechanisms.
  • Supporting contract owners with contract management planning, supplier performance, renewals and commercial issues.
  • Driving supplier optimisation, innovation, sustainability and diversity outcomes, including engagement with SMEs and Indigenous suppliers.
  • Providing probity, governance and risk management advice to stakeholders.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team while contributing to enterprise-wide procurement capability uplift and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring relevant tertiary qualifications and procurement certification, together with 5+ years Commonwealth Government procurement experience, which is a mandatory requirement for this position. You will have a strong understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), the PGPA Act and broader government procurement frameworks, with demonstrated experience delivering complex and strategic procurements within the Commonwealth Government environment.

You will possess significant experience leading ICT procurement, IT infrastructure procurement and technology-related procurement activities, including sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management and commercial risk management. This role requires demonstrated experience delivering procurement outcomes within these domains, rather than general procurement experience alone.

You will be a commercially astute and strategic procurement professional with demonstrated experience influencing diverse stakeholders, leading teams and driving outcomes in complex environments. Strong analytical, project management, communication and presentation skills are essential, along with experience using government procurement panels and marketplaces and a proven ability to deliver compliant, value-for-money procurement solutions.
