A DAY IN THE LIFE The Procurement Manager-Gas Power Generation, formally titled Manager I - Incorporated Materials Execution, leads end‑to‑end procurement delivery for assigned material categories, from project award through final project site delivery. This role is accountable for team performance, delivery outcomes, and alignment of schedule critical procurement activities. They also manage a team of buyers, ensuring effective execution, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. Operating at the intersection of construction scheduling, engineering readiness, and supply chain execution, the role uses strong schedule and critical path awareness to align procurement actions with construction sequencing and proactively mitigate delivery risk across a portfolio of concurrent EPC projects. They serve as the primary execution interface with suppliers, overseeing PO execution, monitoring SLA performance, and serving as the primary escalation point for delivery, commercial, or quality issues. STEP INTO THE ROLE Creates and/or directly oversees the creation of all key initial POs at award for assigned material categories. Develops and maintains a Material Procurement Schedule for assigned projects, mapping each trade package to its engineering milestone dependencies, must-order-by date, and on-site need date flagging misalignments at the earliest point possible. Identifies long-lead items requiring procurement action prior to full engineering completion; coordinates pre-order timing discussions with Engineering and Project Management and supports risk authorization workflows. Directs and coaches Buyers to ensure structured, documented expediting is consistently executed. Maintains tracking of promised versus actual delivery performance across the category portfolio. Escalates complex or high-risk procurement, supplier, or delivery issues as needed while maintaining ownership for resolution. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 5 or more years of progressive experience in construction project delivery, procurement, or project engineering roles on gas-fired power generation projects required, in addition to 2 to 3 years of leadership experience. Ability to travel estimated at 15–25% (project sites, supplier facilities, Avon/Blattner campus).
