As part of the development of our activities in Belgium, we are looking for a Medior Indirect Buyer, fluent in French and Dutch, to support clients based in Brussels and the surrounding area.
Your role
As a Medior Indirect Buyer, you will support internal stakeholders in managing and optimizing non-production spend. You will be involved throughout the procurement cycle, from needs analysis to supplier performance management.
You will act as a business partner for internal stakeholders and contribute to value creation through cost control, process improvement and supplier relationship management.
Your responsibilities
- Analyze internal stakeholders’ requirements and challenge specifications where relevant.
- Identify procurement opportunities and define appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Manage indirect procurement categories such as IT, facilities management, HR services, marketing, fleet, professional services and general services.
- Conduct market analyses and identify potential suppliers.
- Prepare and manage RFI, RFQ and RFP processes.
- Draft specifications, tender documents and bid evaluation templates.
- Analyze supplier offers from commercial, technical and contractual perspectives.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels and contractual conditions.
- Take into account total cost of ownership, supplier risks and service quality.
- Participate in supplier selection and contract award.
- Monitor contract execution and supplier commitments.
- Define and monitor procurement and supplier performance indicators.
- Contribute to supplier base rationalization and optimization.
- Identify procurement-related risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Operations and business teams.
- Prepare procurement analyses, presentations and reports for stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools and policies.
Your profile
- You hold a higher education degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- You have between 1 and 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or contract management.
- You have relevant experience in indirect procurement, ideally gained in a services, industrial, public-sector or international environment.
- You understand the main steps of a sourcing and supplier tendering process.
- You are able to independently manage a sourcing event or procurement project.
- You have strong negotiation, cost analysis and supplier assessment skills.
- You are comfortable managing projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- You are results-oriented, structured, pragmatic and analytically minded.
- You have excellent communication skills and can adapt your approach to different audiences.
- You are able to work independently as well as in a team.
- You are willing to work regularly with clients based in Brussels and the surrounding area.
Language and technical skills
- You have an excellent command of French and Dutch, both written and spoken.
- A good knowledge of English is an asset.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP, Coupa, Ariba, Ivalua, Jaggaer or another procure-to-pay solution is an advantage.
- Knowledge of public procurement, contract management or category management methodologies is a plus.
